No, it's suicidal. People who do this either confuse respect with personal assessement, due to a lack of understanding of the deeper notion of respect, or they are really, really weak and/or regressed, as in the case of people with the so-called Stockholm syndrome.

In other words, there is a difference between not respecting and not underestimating someone. Respect is earned through actions- a person's actions is his or her nature manifest. Who would respect a mass-murderer of innocents, or of one's own family? When you think about it, it's disgusting.

Not if it gets in the way of being aware that it is an enemy. In respect to war; respect is usually observed as letting your enemies dead bodies be safely transfered to a cemetery without any qualms instead of keeping it to be sold in the deli as repackaged meat.

Adding to what zolaluckystar said - ignorance is bliss, hey? No. It's not. It might seem like it is, but a baby born into poverty knows no better, until s/he learns, and then realises that the ignorance of not having an amazing life was not bliss at all.

By the way - you don't have to like every individual person, as I said in my previous reply. Respect is not the same as preferring, necessarily. Here's an interesting thought, perhaps controversial - do we like the Yehubor? Do we respect it for its shit? Do we respect it for its tenacity and ability? Do we have to respect our enemies, in one context or another? For my last question, I would say - perhaps. Perhaps we have to respect our enemy in one context or another; otherwise, we'd undermine its ability, being arrogant and conceited ourselves, which would then be our downfall. Unprepared. This question is better suited for its own topic. Check the forum for that. Our Clergy are not our enemy, but we don't have to like them, per se. At the end of the day, we should just get on with what has actual importance.

There is always the ability - and perhaps most importantly, the option; the decision to make - to grab ahold of bad and either turn it into good or get good out of that bad. The Yehubor and its side are our eternal enemy. If there's one thing we might be grateful for, it is that we can build strong character and determination to overcome this shit. The more that shit is thrown against us, the stronger our resolve can be - but we don't need to wait for something to be against us to increase the strength of our resolve, do we? We can hate them with every fibre of our being, but we should be careful to not let our emotions overwhelm our clear thinking.

While we must recognise the enemy's strengths, respect is not a word in their vocabulary and we shouldn't treat them with it either.
