Greetings to our family,
With this latest update, we are introducing several improvements, new features, and bug fixes to make the Ancient Forums better for everyone.
Here's what's new:
New Feed system
The long-awaited Feed system is now available. You can open Feed from the main navigation and choose between For You, Following, Latest, Unread, and Unanswered. This gives you more ways to discover threads, messages, replies, and profile activity. Stay tuned for more updates to Feed page.
New Lite mode is now in beta
The long-awaited Lite mode is now available in beta. Lite mode gives you a lighter and faster way of reading public content, especially if you have a slower connection or device. We are positioning Lite mode as a read-only version for the threads, messages and replies. For this current beta, it is currently very basic and limited. We will keep working on it and improve it to support other functionalities as well.
You can access Lite mode here: https://ancient-forums.com/lite
New theme mode: Darkest
Alongside light and dark modes, you can now use the new mode: Darkest. You can select it under your account settings and combine it with any of the available theme colors. It is an alternative version to dark mode and uses true black, which is making it very suitable for AMOLED screens.
Improvements on message editor
We’ve been working on making the message editor more reliable and smarter. Drafts should now save sooner and work more reliably across different reply boxes or browser tabs. If a temporary problem happens while saving, the editor should now protect and recover your message and attachments better. We also fixed problems with image sizes and alignment, attachments, quotes, empty lines, and some editor errors.
Better and more reliable browsing
We fixed several issues that could send you to the wrong page when opening a specific message or reply, especially in long or filtered threads. These links should now take you to the exact message or reply more reliably. We also improved automatic scrolling and header navigation.
New offline page
If you lose your connection, the forums can now show a new offline page instead of a normal browser error. It will explain the problem and allow you to try connecting again. Please note that the offline page becomes available after you have already visited the forums once in a supported browser.
The updates are not over yet. We’re already working on more improvements, and you’ll see more changes coming soon, including:
More ways of customizing your profiles
Further improvements to Feed and Lite mode
Some surprising features that we will release soon
Further performance optimizations
...and more things!
If you experience any problems on the forums, or if you have suggestions and opinions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. You can share your feedback or talk about your issue in our official support platform, Vultus Help.
Thank you for everything and may the Gods bless us all!
BAALZEVULON AENAOS
