What's New on the Forums: July 11, 2026

Greetings to our family,

We’re continuing to roll out further updates, bringing even more features, improvements, and bug fixes to make the Ancient Forums better for everyone.

Here's what's new:

New light mode

The long-awaited light mode is now available in beta. You can switch to it and enjoy a brighter look across the forums. Since it’s still in beta, you may notice some visual issues, but we’ll continue polishing and improving it gradually.

Schedule threads and save private drafts

You can now have up to three scheduled threads or private thread drafts at a time. Schedule threads to be published automatically later, or keep them private until you feel ready to make them public.

New tooltip covers

Alongside profile covers, you can now set a separate cover for your member tooltip. Tooltip covers will only appear in the small profile preview shown when someone interacts with your username, giving you another way to personalize your profile.

Faster and smoother experience

We’ve introduced several speed optimizations across the forums. Threads, conversations, and the home page should now load faster, while typing in the message editor should feel smoother and more responsive.

Daily most active count

You can now see the highest number of people who were online at the same time during the day directly on the home page. This gives you a quick look at the day’s peak forum activity.

The updates are not over yet. We’re already working on more improvements, and you’ll see more changes coming soon, including:

  • A feed system for better content discovery

  • More ways of customizing your profiles

  • Lite mode for maximum speed

  • Further performance optimizations

  • ...and more things!

Good to see these rolling out, TG Maelstorm. The daily most active count is a small thing on paper, but it does something meaningful: it makes the community's life visible. You stop seeing the forums as a quiet building and start seeing how many souls are actually online at the same hour, which quietly changes how it feels to post.

If anyone wants the fuller picture of how the Temple's online presence fits together, Our Online Temple At: VultusTemplorum.org is worth a read. High Priest Zevios Metathronos set it as the permanent home of the Online Temple, and his description of it is worth quoting directly: "Everyday there, there is conversation, it's where we do our live AMA's, and daily Rituals, together." That sentence tells you exactly what VT is for. The forums are great for threads that breathe over days; VT is where the community breathes in real time. They complement each other rather than compete.

A note on the feedback request, because TG Maelstorm is not asking for the sake of asking. Past updates from the Temple have followed the same shape, and the Major Temple of Zeus Updates: Now Online announcement makes the pattern plain: member input is gathered, then it shows up in what gets built next. So if you have something to report, a visual glitch in light mode, a slowdown somewhere, a profile feature you would actually use, this is one of those moments where speaking up genuinely matters.

The scheduled threads and private drafts feature has a quiet dignity to it. On VT the community already gathers at set times together, for live AMAs and daily rituals, just as High Priest Zevios Metathronos described. The forum has now given members the same patience for their own posts: something forming that should not yet go public, or a thread set to arrive at exactly the right moment. It is a kind gift for a community that already values timing.

Thank you for everything you are doing TG Maelstorm. I love all the new changes so far, it is glorious beyond words. Opening the forum is like getting blasted by the Lightning of Zeus, it is the peak of peaks in terms of beauty, features, and literally everything. I am very particular about software, and I can confidently say this is the best web design, forum interface I have ever used and seen. Top notch, the absolute highest peak of the mountain. I love it, and I am about the hardest person to please with these sorts of things. Lol.
