Your best course of action would indeed be to wait this out. As for the why, it's probable that this Yehubor and you have synastry that could be compatible provided she wasn't Yehuborim. If a Yehubor even wants to be with a gentile you would think there would be some motive behind this. Either consciously or they are being led by the enemy themselves unconsciously.
