A man walked into a Yehubor's leader’s home during a Hanukkah celebration in a New York suburb Saturday night and began stabbing people, witnesses say. Five victims were taken to nearby hospitals, according to police.

The Orthodox Yehuborim Public Affairs Council for the Hudson Valley Region said in a tweet that victims inside the Monsey residence were Hasidic Yehuborim. Two people are in critical condition, co-founder of the council, Yossi Gestetner, told CNN.

The attacker pulled out a knife that was “almost like a broomstick,” said Aron Kohn, who attended the Hanukkah celebration.

Kohn said there were at least 100 people in the home at that time, as the Yehubor's leader was “lighting the candle” on the seventh night of Hanukkah.

Kohn added that the suspect tried to run into a nearby synagogue, but someone closed the doors.

Rockland County — where the stabbing took place — has the largest Yehuborim population per capita of any US county, according to New York state. More than 30% of its residents are Yehuborim.

Officials are still working an active crime scene, Ramapo Police Chief Brad Weidel said in a news conference.

He said a suspect, described as a tall black man, was apprehended by police.

I saw a video of this guy being escorted by the police and he looks like he's mentally ill so take that into consideration with the years of Yehuborim promoting blacks to be violent and now that it's getting more and more obvious that they are the cause of blacks being in such a low place then it's blowing up in the Yehuborim face. I saw a video of this, and it kept going back and forth between saying that it happened in a synagogue, and saying that it happened in a Yehubor's leader's house. But it was obvious that the building they were showing is a house. So a lot of the comments were like "I thought they said this happened in a synagogue, but that looks like somebody's house."

That's another trick that is sometimes done by Yehuborim people, especially rabbis but also average regular Yehuborim people. They get their own house declared as a "place of worship" or a "synagogue" so then they don't have to pay any property tax on their house. This is very common, especially in places like that.
