When Our Loved Ones “Die”

AvatarHigh Priestess Lydia Coventina7 min to read

I wrote this post many months ago, but never published it. Today I read the Ritual of Thanotos in preparation for leading it for our current schedule, and I remembered about this post and decided to publish it.

As I am writing so deeply from my Heart, I will blur the lines a bit and use a unisex name to give some semblance of privacy.

Jamie was my best friend growing up and a close relative. As small children, age 5-7, Jamie figured out mudras and taught them to me. A few years later, breath of fire. We tried pyrokinesis, telekinesis, telepathy, and other forms of the occult. As teens, one day Jamie came to me in excitement, having learned to astral project.

And then, that phone call where I learned of Jamie's death. I still hear it haunting my mind every so often: “Jamie’s dead” in a flat tone of voice on the other end of the line. That accompanying clutch in my chest, the as-yet uncontrollable tightening of my face.

The next year and a half were filled with misery, grief, and sadness. I woke in the mornings with no enthusiasm for my day, dreading the emptiness, the lack of connection with my best friend. I didn’t understand at the time but I now know I suffered from heavy depression. Bereavement has no care for overcoming any weakness. Inner strength must be found elsewhere, but I did not have it then.

And then one fated night, Zeus lead me to His Temple, our website. With the meditations and Yoga, I became alive again. My soul was growing its spark back.

I decided to make a Ouija board in hopes of communicating better with my Guardian Daemon. I sat down at it, and asked if anyone was there. The planchette moved to “Yes”, then proceeded to spell out Jamie's name.

I froze.

Then, adrenaline rushed through my system. Surely this must be some cruel trick of enemy entities, trying to mess with me when I was already down. I put away my board and did not touch it again for a long time.

Over the next years, I increased my psychic ability thanks to the meditations available in the ToZ. After some time, Jamie was right next to me, in astral spirit form. These visits continued every so often over the next few years. They brought comfort to my heart, and helped me understand that it was indeed Jamie on the other side of that Ouija board.

One day, a Zevist friend online through our forums who died also came to visit me, I could sense he was happy I remembered him.

On Jamie’s birthday nearly 10 years after their death, I received a piece of information about the birth town of a random person online; it was the same tiny village Jamie had been born in. The odds of that happening were impossible; Jamie’s birthday, and name of place of birth. I went into a trance and contacted one of our Gods: Jamie had been reincarnated, born again on that day, at that approximate moment.

Since then, we have met up again on the astral a few times. The Gods guided me there in my “sleep”. Jamie remembers me, remembers out connection; but through the process of incarnating again, things are a bit different, but will be similar again upon full Remembrance of the soul when Jamie spiritually advances.

More recently, an elderly relative died. He had suffered from dementia and many health ailments and frailness in his final years. Upon his death, he was transported to me briefly. He was again as a young man: strong, full of life and vigor.

Our loved ones live again, and one day, we will meet them again. Death is not final for us and our loved ones. As painful as it feels, as empty and lonely as it may seem, death is merely a temporary departure from our current life.

My heart always goes on.

The following poetry I remembered upon waking this morning and thinking of the above:

Because I could not stop for Death,

He kindly stopped for me;

The carriage held but just ourselves

And Immortality.

We slowly drove, he knew no haste,

And I had put away

My labor, and my leisure too,

For his civility.

We passed the school where children played,

Their lessons scarcely done;

We passed the fields of gazing grain,

We passed the setting sun.

Or rather, he passed us,

The dews drew quivering and chill;

For only gossamer, my gown,

My tippet – only tulle.

We paused before a house that seemed

A swelling of the ground;

The roof was scarcely visible,

The cornice but a mound.

Since then 'tis centuries; but each

Feels shorter than the day

I first surmised the horses' heads

Were toward eternity.

Hathor, Nebet Amentet, Lady of the West!

You stand at the threshold where the living pass into the eternal.

You receive the souls of the righteous beneath the sycamore tree

and offer them bread and water and shade.

No one who comes to you in truth is turned away.

Guard the souls of the Zevists who have departed.

Receive them with tenderness.

Guide them through the Western passages with your golden light.

And for those of us still walking in the land of the living,

grant us the knowledge that death is not an ending

but a passage into your arms.

Anubis, Great Lord, take care of our souls,

Take care of the family members of ours who have departed,

Guide them pleasantly and lovingly into the Afterlife,

Have Great mercy on them for their transgressions,

Reward them kindly for their good deeds,

O Great Inpu!

Walk beside them through the corridors of the Duat, and let them not walk alone.

Mother of Anubis,

Great Goddess of the Underworld,

Guide us aright both in Life and in Death,

Until our final step into Eternal Life and Resurrection.

Renenutet, Renen-watat, She Who Stands at the Weighing of the Heart!

You were present when the soul of the dead was weighed upon the scales of Ma'at.

You witnessed every judgement. You knew every secret of the departed.

The dead speak to you, and you speak for the dead.

Open the channel between the Initiates and the blessed dead.

Let the ancestors of the faithful be reached.

Let the wisdom of those who have crossed be available to those who remain.

Let the knowledge that the dead carry back from the Hall of Judgement

flow to the living through your intercession.

“In the Temple of Zeus, it is common knowledge that reincarnation is a factual reality.

The process of this is holy and sacred because the Gods instated these rules for humans to not perish but rather become infinite and eternal beings like them in the end.

We will reincarnate again and again until we complete the Magnum Opus, or the Great Work of the Gods.”

A beautiful post to read and feel deep in one's soul...

it has somewhat dark and nostalgic undertones, but knowing this completely changes one's perspective on life. Thank you HPS Lydia for share this with us!

That story really touched me, High Priestess. Thank you for sharing it with us. We often take it for granted that death is a deterioration of the body and soul, but I’ve often seen proof that, in reality, the deceased are still with us.

I’m very grateful for this sermon, and I hope everyone can draw happiness and positivity from it, and, above all, a new awareness.

This really touched my heart. Thank you for sharing this, High Priestess. I am sorry for your loss. I think it is absolutely amazing that Jamie was reincarnated in the same area and even on the same day; that's really extraordinary, and it's even more amazing that you were able to find all of this out. May the Gods bless them and help them advance. 🙏

Our loved ones who pass away are always with us; death is only a new beginning of the soul's journey, even if it sometimes feels to us like it is the complete end.

Not in the same location, apologies for the confusion. I actually don't know where, I didn't want to know. But for interest in reincarnation, the birth town was a hint about the reincarnation, as it was the same birth day. Same town, same birth day, on the same day, was the hint, then I was informed about the reincarnation.

My condolences for your losses, albeit late, High Priestess.

It was death for me, the catalyst that turned the mere curiosity and awareness in the back of my mind that the Temple is somewhere out there into a desperate, obsessive search and action to find Gods and communicate. I couldn't accept that someone I loved so much does not exist anymore.

A simply STUPENDOUS post! Thank you, High Priestess!

I’d like to take this opportunity to share some experiences I’ve never posted about on the forum; perhaps others have had similar ones.

In the past, I’ve had various anomalous experiences related to death. It happened more than once: after my grandfather died (I was five), I had a strange dream where I joined him in a place that looked like a wheat field; my grandfather was running happily. I was the only grandchild who had actually known him—my brother was too young, and my cousin was born after he passed away—and it wasn't the first time I’d dreamed of him. That’s not all; a few years ago, my aunt died of cancer. I dreamed of her the next day, but she wasn't very happy; she seemed resentful. In fact, when I mentioned this to my relatives, they asked how I knew that, and I simply said I had dreamed about her. This didn't just happen with my relatives; it also happened when the mother of a neighbor of mine passed away. In that case, it didn't happen through dreams; rather, recently, while meditating, I began to see her face clearly. I also have stories to tell about strange things that happened after my cat died, but I think that’s a topic for another post.

What could these events mean? Can the deceased try to communicate with those of us who are very advanced in meditation? Or could these be hostile entities?

Avatar

Yes, you likely saw them, their souls. Your aunt may have been resentful about something, perhaps she did not fulfill something she wanted to in her life before her death.

People do roam the Earth after they die, before they move on. High Priest Zevios mentioned this. They want to visit us, anyone who can sense them, before moving on.

Thank you so much, High Priestess; this information is extremely valuable. I can therefore deduce that people like us act as "beacons" on the astral plane, given our far more advanced communication capabilities. To be honest, I was fascinated by communicating with the dead but never actually attempted it in a concrete way; the only communication I initiated was directly with our Gods. As for communications that were not initiated by me (or perhaps not started by me—I’m not sure how to put it), they came from both the deceased—mostly relatives—and hostile alien entities. (During my early meditations, especially when focusing on the Third Eye, I clearly saw an extremely hostile being known as a "Grey." It scared me to death, but it also confirmed that these things are concrete and real—since I am naturally skeptical. However, the effect on me was the opposite of what that being intended: instead of driving me away, it made me delve even deeper.) Furthermore, this is very reassuring; it reinforces the idea that the deceased wander our dimension for a certain period, which would also explain why, after a while, I seemed to stop receiving any kind of contact. These entities primarily manifest to me through dreams or meditative visions, or—much more rarely—I catch glimpses of strange mists, wispy clouds, or shapes out of the corner of my eye; I have yet to figure out exactly what those are.

Thank you. But tell me please, after death will my loved ones come to know who Zeus is? Will they learn that I chose the right path? Will they see me as I really am?

Not if they aren't able to. Beliefs are deeply ingrained. But in time as they incarnate and learn about true spirituality, they will understand.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Your story is touching. I wish for all recently deceased souls to find enough peace to let go everything and the strength to reincarnate.

This was a beautiful read, High Priestess. In sharing what you have, regarding your elderly relative who suffered from dementia, I would like to share two stories of my own that I have only shared so far in private.

Much of my life, has been spent in some way helping care for my grandparents, first my grandfather, and then my grandmother. Since I did not really have a father, my grandparents stepped in and helped my mother raise me. They were like parents to me, my grandmother especially.

Dementia is a terrible thing to behold, let alone to behold it twice. Seeing someone forget not only who you are, but who they are as well. It requires strength and patience to wake up and see it through daily, as a carer.

There was one day, where I had a psychic experience within a dream. It was my grandmother. It was if she was visiting me. She seemed a little bewildered at first, and I told her that she'd had dementia for several years now. It was like a realization slowly set in, and eventually she understood. It was the first time I'd seen her as her old self since the disease set in, and some part of me knew that it was goodbye.

When I woke up that day, we heard a rattle in her throat when she breathed. Though her condition was advanced by this stage, it still felt as if she would be around for some time, so we had no idea that this day would be any different. Perhaps what was more strange, was that unlike previous days and weeks, my grandmother didn't say anything. Not a word. She didn't seem conscious of anything. It was like she had already left, and what was there with us was a shell.

We put her to bed that night, and she peacefully passed away right in front of my mother and myself. Given we did not anticipate it happening so suddenly, the dream only made sense in retrospect.

Around that time, High Priest Zevios spoke that the average soul does not remember that it had dementia upon the physical death. This was exactly the case.

My second story comes from my mother, who I inherited my psychic gifts from. When I was around two years old, an uncle of mine died in a car accident. He was young, only about 20 years old. The same day he died, his beloved dog went missing. It was almost as if the dog already knew somehow and left. Nobody knew what happened to the dog, but, that night, my mother had a dream.

She was standing, amidst rolling green meadows that stretched on into the horizon. My uncle was there, and he appeared to be departing for the distance. By his side, was his dog. They were leaving together. My mother knew just from that, that the dog had somehow passed away as well, and had joined with the owner he loved in life. Despite having no knowledge of Greek myth, my mother so vividly saw the afterlife they spoke of. Given our shared experiences, it was apparent the ancient Gods were the true ones. If anything came from the tragedy, it was the knowledge that would pave the way for me later in life.

My condolences for your loss, High Priestess. Though tragedy is highly personal and there isn't one that is truly alike another, your story did touch me, and I felt I really empathized.

This post brought tears to my eyes. ❤️

I am so sorry for your loss. At the same time, reading your words feels like such a beautiful reminder that our loved ones never truly leave us. They may no longer be with us in the physical sense, but the love they gave us, the memories they created, and the part of their soul they shared with us remain forever.

Death is not an ending, but a passage. Our bodies may leave this world, but the soul continues on, and that the bonds created through love can never truly be broken.

Thank you for sharing something so deeply personal and touching with us, High Priestess. Your words are a beautiful reminder of the enduring power of love, and of how those we cherish can continue to live on within us. May we all find again our loved ones in the next reincarnation❤️❤️

I remember your tragic story from earlier, too, which you already shared years ago. You know, I recently lost my poor father and I am still feeling devastated, but I am grateful to you for your comforting words, and for your knowledge and for your experiences you shared!

It is really reassuring to know these and it is also motivating for me to keep working and stay on this path. 🙏

Thank you always! 🤍

This is the targeted message.

My condolences, HPS Lydia. This post reminded me my grandmother's death. The night after we took her to hospital I saw a dream about her. She gave me a lot of chocolates in a box. When I wake up I had a feeling of she will pass away in a week, the exact same day my grandpa's birthday. It occured exactly like that.

Real love is a really strong emotion can go beyond lifetimes. Even we don't understand it logically, we feel it in our souls.

All you need is yourself, to meditate, and to heal your soul. The key to greatness is already in there. You don't need to be anyone else, but your own self. Live your life, exist and advance. Do your most beautiful work on your soul and life now.

If you want to climb in life, you will have to engage life and not complain about the rules.

I am very sorry for your loss, High Priestess. What you wrote carries such a strong emotional charge, and this feeling can be felt so deeply through your words. It brought me to tears... because of its intrinsic beauty and its bittersweetness.

I can understand death very well and reading this is exactly what I needed at this moment. In relatively recent times, my life has been touched by the passing of people who were very, very close to me and whom I loved infinitely.

One of these people, I know for certain that I distinctly felt their hand on my shoulder one day, while I was in complete despair, crying over their death. So I spoke to them. I told them everything that I had not been able to tell them while they were alive. I tried to reassure them with my words, telling them that their soul was free, that they were now safe and always protected. I spoke aloud, apparently to myself, for a while, until you think you have said everything. A couple of days later, I saw this person in my dreams very vividly and unmistakably. They said to me: "I heard everything you said".

I understood that it was not simply a dream.

Death is not division, it is not permanent separation and it is not a line drawn once and for all. A real and authentic bond will not be definitively broken by the passing of someone we love. We will meet again the people we have loved, as none of us is lost in the fabric of life and death, and this post reminds us of that. Thank you for writing this.

This year, as in previous years, I have also been mourning the loss of a family member. I mourn the pets I have lost as well, because I have always considered them part of my family too.

So I can relate to some of what you described, High Priestess. Thank you for sharing such a personal story with us.

For me, death is not the end. It is part of a greater cycle of life, evolution, and transformation. When a seed is placed into the earth, it does not simply disappear. It changes, grows, and emerges in a new form.

In a similar way, through learning, our ignorant self in a sense “dies,” and a wiser self emerges in its place. We are no longer quite the same person we were before.

I think death can be understood in a similar way, not as annihilation, but as a transition from one state of existence into another. And sooner or later, if we are meant to, we will meet our loved ones again.
