If we really fundraise and tax..or some other occult money making. We could select through our ph.d members to run for president and really call the shots. But oh.. I'd do it perfectly to be honest. We have to work in the background for now. Maybe you are a bit geeky? Consider seeing the bonus/special features of programmes and films, seeing what happens behind the camera in the production of things which are seen on screen. There is so much more that is unseen - and that could be a big metaphor for what the JoSM and its members are doing in the World. Aside from what other people have stated, you also don't need a Ph.D to become president and occupy other governmental and parliamentary seats. Ph.Ds are for people who want to really become expert in a specific sub-branch of a subject. It's only useful for stem subjects and soft sciences like psychology. You don't even need an undergraduate degree in order to be a politician: you just need to have developed the right qualities, which flourish in real life, not in the sheltered and bureaucratic world of higher education.
