You really don't want your friend to go around summoning entities in this fashion. Its impolite. Its like having somebody banging on your door at 3 in the morning unannounced demanding help. You'd be pissed off, as will the entities.
Get him to try an invocation as opposed to an evocation.

No! Do not cast a circle! That is very disrespectful to the Gods! Also, since you are new, you may not even sense them when you summon them, so you may just be wasting your time and theirs. Are you astrally open enough? If not, wait until you are.

No. Protenction circles have never been necessary for myself. Demons mean no harm.
