SAN DIEGO - Nearly 10,000 pages of previously sealed Catholic church documents have been made public and showed that the Diocese of San Diego long knew about abusive priests, some of whom were shuffled from parish to parish despite credible complaints against them.

After a three-year legal battle over the diocese's internal records, a retired San Diego Superior Court judge ruled late Friday that they could be made public. Attorneys for 144 people claiming sex abuse made the papers public Sunday.

The records are from the personnel files of 48 priests who were either credibly accused or convicted of sexual abuse or were named in a civil lawsuit. They include a decades-old case in which a priest under police investigation was allowed to leave the U.S. after the diocese intervened.

The plaintiffs settled with the diocese in 2007 for nearly $200 million, but the agreement stipulated that an independent judge would review the priests' sealed personnel records and determine what could be made public.

The files show what the diocese knew about abusive priests, starting decades before any allegations became public, and that some church leaders moved priests around or overseas despite credible complaints against them.

"We encourage all Catholics, all members of the community, to look for these documents," attorney Anthony DeMarco said at a news conference. "These documents demonstrate years and years and decades of concerted action that has allowed this community's children to be victimized, and it is not until the community looks at these documents that this cycle is ever going to be ended."

Donna Daly, a spokeswoman for the Diocese of San Diego, did not immediately return a call on Sunday and no one answered at the main diocese number. Maria Roberts, an attorney for the diocese, did not immediately respond to a message left with her office on Sunday.

It's absolutely staggering & just the tip of a very disgusting iceberg.

I was reading about the horrors of the residential "Indian" schools here in Canada -- it was so sick I didn't finish! a litany of horrors that boggled the mind -- and the nuns were also serious abusers.

The more one engages others in conversation, the more one comes to realize that the world in general is beginning -- at least it's a start -- to see xianity for the nefarious program it is (along with judaism & islam). It's becoming increasingly more difficult for the powers that be to shore it up & not a moment too soon.

Yes, this is just one Diocese. An  Police investigator mentioned once that the number of abuse cases was even across America. Hence not happening in isolation. So it's an estimate that the numbers involved in this case are giving one at clearer look at the numbers across the board.   The secret is xanity, islam, liberalism, communism, capititalism, democracy are all persona's of juadism.

There are many instances of abuse by pedophile catholic priests here in South Africa. It is a world-wide issue. It is xianity itself that is the disease. People here are afraid to send their little children to xian play schools now (when a few years back this was the trend) because they know of what goes on. People are growing to hate xianity more and more.

This shit goes on in America, UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Africa, everywhere xianity routes its tentacles. And where islam is, pedophilia is considered a "normal" practice, so it goes on there too. Muslim Men are allowed, by islamic law, to perform Sexual acts upon a baby. They marry six year old girls. Its the kike that is the route of all of this.

Yes, the nature of the beast is the same globally.   Islam after reading though the Koran and it's rules is nothing more then juadism for Gentiles.
