i will tell you like have many here in other posts i have replied to how i went about it.
on candles:
black was the hardest color for me to find but i found an arts and crafts type store that had them.
http://s3.hubimg.com/u/3340954_f248.jpgwas not this kind but the kind i found was about that size.keep in mind though not everybody here is always able to find certain candle colors black being on of those really hard to find colors so don't sweat it if you cannot find this one.
red well there is an interesting story. most places like grocery stores like i went to had ones that were tall and in glass containers and what not. now most of them had jesus rhp mumbo jumbo on them but luckely i found a few tall red ones with no symbols of any kind at all. so this info here may help you a bit if you want a red candle that is unscented. with the acception of the black ones i got that day the red and blue ones i got where unscented as i even to this day am still trying to learn what fragrances father and his demons like so while i am trying to learn more on meditation and much much more on the jos site i am going to different places and trying different candles and seeing how well they work.
blue by far was for me the easiest candle color to find so definately focus on trying your best to get his color for dedication (if needed still) most of all as it may in this case be the easiest color to find and like the red one i mentioned before if you want unscented grocery and even some drug stores may carry the tall glass container type ones that have no symbols on them at all. again this is good because most of those kinds of candles with symbols/pictures on them those pictures are usually of JEWSUS and other RHP bullshit but you need not worry as like i said before there are ones with no pictures at all i am sure you can use for whatever you wish.
overall it is the intention of the dedication that matters. but for me personally to me its rewarding to at least try my best to find the reccomended colors. it gave me a sense of accomplisment and i could really give myself a pat on the back for that one.
writing utensils:
if you do not have a dry pen then get a feather from some kind of bird. one i used was from a crow or black bird of some kind. people used to use quills before pens and pencils so if you wanna go old school and do that then go for it friend. it worked well for me.
i am not sure whether you would be more okay with cutting or poking yer finger of left hand index finger but for me i used a thumbtack as around my work area in the breakroom area they sometimes leave loose ones lying around no one is using.
it was painful yes but was worth the reward of being apart of the wonderful family that includes father, his demons, and all those here at the JOS. if you wana go do it that way then once you have poked yerself enough then just squeeze the heck outta the fingure (or at least as much as necessary and as often as you need to)
to get blood outta there and then use the feather or whatever writing thing you got and you can either use the dry pen or feather and dip it in the blood on your index finger on your left hand as often as needed and write yer name on the paper. it took me a few tries to write it down and make it as clear as possible but i did it okay though and made it legible enough.
last but not least the paper:
i used paper that i believe was originaly for copiers and what not that i bought from a grocery store. you can also buy at places like office max and staples im sure. it was blank paper as i was not sure if the paper needed t be blank or not but i figured id go about it that way just in case. i was able to get the prayer and my bloody name written down on that paper.
