scared to open third eye

I know, "fear is the worst enemy in spirituality." I am scared to open my third eye because I would frankly rather not know bad things that might happen. I have had a "gift" of premonition since childhood, but its felt like more of a curse to me. I want to not know if people might die or etc. I hate that. Is there a way to stop these, by the way? Also, with the third eye do you just see everything and anything or just what you "request" if you will, to find out about...
