Kriya Yoga Problems

I recently purchased a book titled Kundalini Tantra by Swami Satyananda Saraswati.

In it there are about 20+ or so Kriya yoga practices.

There very first one is named Vipareeta Karani Mudra. I'll link to pictures of it down below.

The idea is to lay on your back and raise your legs vertically in the air, so they are pointing upwards in a straight line towards the sky, then you are supposed to inhale and exhale with "ujjayi" while visualizing a nectar entering your base chakra all the way up to your throat chakra on the inhale and then to your remaining three chakras on the exhale.

Okay, besides the near impossibility of the posture that I am expecting to remain in while visualizing something, the method itself seems fucking ABSURD!! Like it's very difficult for me to believe this will actually do anything.

I am saying this because it has been wrote about on the joyofsatan website how yoga has been corrupted by the enemy. So can someone tell me are things like this a bunch of bullshit too?

In the book there are other easier ones but it is stuff like visualizing a lotus blooming on your crown chakra and extending down your spine with roots coming out your base chakra into the Earth.

It sounds ridiculous and I can't comprehend what any of this will actually do. I am not a stranger to meditation or spiritual work, but this type of Kriya Kundalini practice I am new.

Please tell me if I am wrong? Or if I am right and there are other practices which I should use instead.

You're wrong. First of all it's not a hard pose to do, it's easier than a shoulderstand. You can visualize anything anywhere, you actually do that all the time subconsciously. It's not hard either. The things you visualize there are not much different than the power meditations on JoS. How do you think visualizing a lotus (which is a very common representation of chakra, mind you) or visualizing liquit flowing from your spine to your throat chakra is absurd and visualizing chakras as spinning vortexes or 2 serpents intertwining and activating your chakras as the JoS mentions isn't? Both are based in the same concept. So this isn't corrupted. Besides that, on JoS doesn't say that the yoga methods are corrupted, but their teachings. The methods are ok. The bs part is when they teach you that to do those things you need to be a celibate vegetarian.
Although Swami Satyananda Saraswati doesn't even advise celibate vegetarian BS like that either.

Ironically Kyle those techniques you posted are the ones that don't even have an inkling of corruption. I've found other techniques where a man and woman join their hands and meditate together and with a big warning under the instructions that they shouldn't do that over 1 minute and both should have a pure mind. This is supposed to be a tantra technique. Reading this it's obvious to realize that has been watered down and corrupted from real tantra which involves sexual intercourse and not merely joining hands. That must be hardcore sex for RHPers judging by all those warnings they put under it.

<td val[/IMG]Now I happen to know this book so let me drop my two cents..... Most if not all the information about kundalini yoga out there is corrupted. Most people who teach it don't even know what the hell their doing, Fools teaching fools. My advise is to just go with your gut, if something seems stupid or dangrious to you then don't do it. There ARE some things to take away from books like the one mentioned, the key is shifting through the BS.

@the_fire_starter Thanks. Okay but if I physically can not get into that posture is it okay to just master the Kriyas I am physically able to do? Or is it essential I master all of the Kriyas?

Thanks once again.

The warning on JOS against corruption is against suicidal things like, as Firestarter put veganism as well as self mutilation and starvation practices.

Things like swallowing rags and cutting one's own tongue in half... those are corruptions. Some people find it easier to visualise a flower rather than a bright light and thus this is the suggestion. You can visualise it in whatever way you find most effective.

@Bruce Hancock: That's laveyan Bullshit and has nothing to do with Spiritual Satanism. There's no "Satanic sins" or statement here. That's only in Laveyan Satanism which is nothing more than atheism and which we don't agree.

Lol!! Yeah you know that holding hand stuff... It can lead to precarious forbidden actions. Like, like, touching her naughty places, shh! You didn't hear this from me!
