Thank you for this tip. After I finished the 40 day program I was focusing more on the Spinal Energy Series in the AM and would get intense anxiety (overstimulated nervous system, too much energy and adrenaline) that I couldn't focus or feel calmness. Am I wrong to say KY is to raise/stimulate the nervous system/bioelectricity, not necessaily to calm the nervous system like Hatha Yoga? Or maybe most people dont have an "always on" nervous system so raising energy doesn't take them over the edge like with me hahaHere is advice by SG Alexandros from a few years ago, in reply to a previous post I had made about Kundalini Yoga. This is true, one should have some advancement before delving further into KY. There are people who develop problems from this.
I have struggled with an overactive nervous system for most of my life and the only thing that consistently makes my nervous system feel at ease and not in danger, and gets my body feeling "soft" without tension is doing Hatha Yoga (and taking anxiety medication which I no longer take). I haven't been diligent with HY so my nervous system is on guard these past months. I get kind of scared to start KY again for this reason because my nervous system is so sensitive and can go overboard quite easily. I would get really sleepy doing HY and that's why I stopped doing that because I was taking naps or being sleepy the rest of the day, but I guess HY really did work to relax my nervous system! Maybe I could incorporate HY as my baseline for now and sprinkle in some KY to feel a baseline of calm nervous system while increasing energy/bioelectricity slowly and gently over time until my body gets used to it. I was doing the full Spinal Energy Series and it was just so much overwhelming energy. Maybe I could do the shortened version of it like in the 40 day program, that would probably be better for now. It sometimes feels "wrong" when I am not doing the series in full, and I keep waiting until I "feel better" so I can do the whole thing, but instead of doing even some of it as an interim, I do none of it. Which logically doesn't make any sense now that I've written it out.
I am interested in doing the Somatic Therapy exercise HPHC posted to work through the tension in my body especially my shoulders, but haven't been able to focus and organize myself to start. I just did the dosha exercises and found out I am Vata-Pitta and how important it is for me to write down a schedule everyday, so I have been doing that for 3 days now and it is helping me feel not so scattered and to get more things done and out of my brain, little by little moving forward instead of being stagnent and stuck Thank you so much for posting that High Priestess Lydia
