Hello there!
Can anyone give me some advice on internet security or send me a link to a sermon on how to be safe on the internet? Until recently, I did not pay much attention to this, but now I want to improve and seriously address this issue. I would be grateful for advice and guidance from people who are experienced in this. Thanks in advance
Hail Satan !
Off the top of my head:
-a safe vpn, paid like mullvad, or TOR
-a safe browser, such as "hardened" Firefox (search for that)
-private email, such as protonmail for email (make a throwaway recovery email)
-private messenger, such as Threema or Status for android (Threema has a desktop client as well)
-removing Windows OS tracking through WPD: https://wpd.app/
-deGoogling your phone and life, such as removing and replacing apps (https://www.privacytools.io/) or deleting/restricting your data on your google account itself
-setting up a crypto coin payment system that is completely anonymous
-using a safe password manager and using strong passwords
-deleting old social media posts which can haunt you. I recently cleared all my old YT comments.
There is certainly more that one can do. The best you can do is simply familiarize yourself with the basics, and implement actions that are reasonable for you to do so. Start here: https://www.privacytools.io/guides/
Taking steps to secure yourself now will avoid problems later, as the enemy tightens its reign over technology. You are not creating a totally impenetrable defense, but like a castle wall, you are simply making it harder for the enemy to get to you. Sure, they could go get a cannon and army to attack your castle, but that is much harder than simply walking inside.
