By cleverer I assume you mean people who have a higher IQ ? Or do you mean people who have more knowledge as compared to others ? Because these are two very separate things.

Infact if you look at this question it would be hard to ascertain a very particular answer since there are many variables at play here, which could shift outcomes based on the individual. Making mistakes is a human tendency. Since humanity has lost majority of its spiritual prowess, we cannot predict with 100% accuracy the best course of action for our future success. Even if we did ,the future is constantly changing and our intuition is not that strong yet. However dealing with mistakes is what makes all the difference. Clever people ,who have been blessed with genetic potential will quickly catch on to what they're doing wrong and rectify it ,getting success. For a person with a low iq it could means months of years of trying and failing. And that's where's the difference or gap in potential comes in and why humanity can never be equal in an unfair world. Those who make use of their blessed genetic potential can rise too high and those who simply aren't blessed by nature die trying.

There's also an element of talent and experience in making mistakes. Talent is in my view ,simply experience gained from a past life aided by favourable planetary conjunctions. Talent supercedes all. You cannot defeat Talent and Grit with Grit alone. Experience is also an indicator of success/failure. While consistent repetition, the unconscious mind will adapt to and learn from each try. It will make less mistakes with each try (ability of the mind to adapt depends on your IQ and your intuition. ) If you simply do something over and over again you will gain a greater propensity for doing it than other people.

All of this is in ignorance of spiritual power. If one has enough spiritual power, one can defeat karma ,planetary conjunctions and lacking genetic potential.

Being more intelligent means you understand things better, as intellegence is the faculty of understanding. If you understand things better, you also understand the consequences of what you're doing better. Whether you make more mistakes or not, that's your decision. One can consciously make mistakes and take calculated risks.

There are many different types of intelligences as human beings aren't generalists but are more suited to being specialists. So one may be great with science and reasoning but bad at arts and creativity. Or they may great at sports but find spirituality hard. And viceversa. Of course, one may be good at multiple things but there's always something they won't excel at.

Being intelligent is not a generalised thing. One may be building they know what invention they believe good for humanity but be incapable of seeing how it affects the people on the social side.

The risk of making mistakes, in my opinion, is higher in fields you understand less.

P. S. The Big Bang Theory is no example of sublime logical/scientific intelligence as it's full of holes and flaws, and it contradicts itself. It's just facade and a conversion of the genesis into "science". For all we know, many constants they gave us may not even be constants. For example the speed of light. Are we sure is it even a constant and not the speed light moves in space? Change the mean from void to something else and the speed may change. Make it go through a very strong electro-magnetic or gravitational field and see if it still moves at the same speed. They even say that supposedly during the fictional big bang moved much faster.
