Buddhists

Nirvana in the Pali Cannon means extinction. In the four Noble Truths of  Buddhism. When they say: Existence is suffering." They mean this. This is the open statement on the purpose of Buddhism. To end suffering is to end existence. The opposite of existence is extinction.

The rule in Buddhism is you can eat the meat if the animal was not specifically killed for you and its not bad karma. Your not allowed to actually do the killing or witness the killing or order it. Otherwise its bad karma. Its an attempt to force vegetarianism into society as this is Jainism the original enemy program in the east which is communism with some metaphysic window dressing. If the whole society becomes Buddhist then everyone is forced to some type of a vegetarian diet.

Humans were designed to be omnivores, not herbivores.  Animal products are necessary for optimal health, though one might be able to survive a while on a vegan diet.  This is, however, not conducive to optimal health since many co-factors are found only in animal foods.  Vitamin B12 is the classic--though a few plant foods contain significant B12 and complete protein (spirulina), they lack the co-factors.
What is[/B] horrible is the unnecessary abuse of animals.  They are kept in tiny cages for their whole lives, usually in filthy conditions.  Many are abused stupidly by workers.  Lobsters and crabs are kept in tanks with nothing to do except look at light that they do not want for months at a time.  The factory farms mistreat other animals pending slaughter.
If you care about animals, I recommend signing the petitions against animal cruelty that sometimes come up here.  You hear about piss poor treatment of dairy cows, complain.  You see stories about puppy mills, sign petitions to get them raided.  You see stories protecting abusers, threaten those who protect them (usually those in congress) with their jobs come next election, along with a good dose of guilt for supporting animal abuse.  Yes, you still have to kill animals to eat healthy.  But you do not have to condone the life of abuse they get prior to being killed.
And remember, animals are killed all the time in the wild.  Just watch a lion or tiger taking down an animal for a meal.  Do lions impose life to death cruelty on these animals?  Do tigers keep animals in tanks or tiny filthy cages through their whole lives?  Yet, they eat meat to survive.  We can keep the level of cruelty down to what is found in nature.

@maxikruger2: Humans are supposed to eat animals because this has also been mentioned in previous texts predating the buybull. Don't forget the buybull is a copy paste, a rip off and a corrupted one at that. The entire thing "contributes to the torturing and killing animals" thing is absurd. Animals kill animals for food all the time. If you believe in that nonsense go tell a lion or tiget not to kill animals to eat them.
Animal meat is superior and necessary food as it contains vitamins plant food does not.
Contrary to the liberal nonsense, the natural ecosystem is made so that species can survive on killing other species. This happens all the time. And it's pretty good actually, because they couldn't then they would all overpopulate the earth and drain its resources. Sure to keep the balance, besides being born there must be dying too. It's not good or bad, it's how it is.
As for torturing animals being wrong, I agree. But it doesn't mean you shouldn't eat meat which is necessary. It just means treating them with respect and slaughtering them immediately without first letting them bleed and other inhumane methods like the kikes do.
BTW you do know that the plants can feel pain, right? Plants do react to things. Knowing this, are you gonna stop eating plants as well? LOL

@Yog Sothoth, it's good to have a grip on things. I understand what you mean, it's kinda tired.. but learning is a good thing. A lot of this I wasn't even aware about. It's not like I'm suddenly considering buddhism...

@Call_Me_Something_Else..

Interesting. So they're like xians. Begging for handouts constantly, and getting bitchy when people refuse to give anything minus the... violence?.. probably mostly, I mean there probably were some violent ones..

riiiiiight. of course eating meat is wrong. nevermind the fact that snakes, tigers, lions, wolves and all kinds of other predatory beasts need it to survive.or the fact that it curbs overpopulation of certain species. you know how rabbits multiply like crazy if they arent killed off? those fuckers would be raiding everyone's farms and gardens if predators didn't
take them out.the body needs protein to grow and function. this cannot be done without eating meat.there are also other nutrients in meat that the body breaks down without.ask anyone who powerlifts what they think about veganism. If they're worth their salt they would call it SUICIDE.
