Back to Basics: Strengthening Our Foundations

AvatarHidden Warrior [SG]3 min to read

Greetings, my Brothers and Sisters of the Temple of Zeus.

I want to write this very brief post to share with you the idea that, from time to time, it is very good to go back to basics. It is nothing new; it has been stated many times over the years, but I believe this is an especially good time for members of the Temple of Zeus to do so.

Thanks to the tireless work of our Clergy, with honorable mention to High Priest Zevios Metathronos and Priest Alexandros Iowno, the Temple of Zeus website has been updated, refined, and brought to an exceptional level of quality, both in content and usability. A monumental amount of knowledge has been shared, and probably every page has been expanded and perfected.

We have many members who have been on this spiritual path for many years, dedicated to Zeus for a long time. It is a wonderful time to take an honest look at how well you understand and remember the fundamentals: the aura, chakras, breathing techniques, the origins and Declarations of the Temple of Zeus.

Now, the main website doesn't contain just knowledge; it provides clear instructions on how to structure your routines and gives you the tools to gain mastery over your basic instincts, from beginner to advanced levels. For example:

Go back to the beginning and do a reality check. Don't ego trip, and don't be shy about admitting to yourself that you may be lacking some basic information. You won't gain anything from lying to yourself.

This doesn't mean that everyone needs to abandon their current practices and start all over again. It means being honest enough to identify any gaps in our foundations and disciplined enough to correct them.

It is a hundred times better to say to yourself, "Okay, I see that I still have difficulties handling something listed in the beginner section. Let me adjust my routine to make sure I can move forward with strong foundations," than to keep pushing forward like a bull, only to find yourself doing advanced techniques when you are not even able to practice void meditation for a few minutes.

Knowing something intellectually is not the same as having mastered it through practice, nor does simply reading something mean that you have truly internalised its content. Read carefully, ask yourself what you have just read, and try to repeat and summarise it in your own words.

Going back to basics is not going backwards. It is making sure that every step forward rests on solid foundations.

Solid advice! A strong foundation is definitely necessary to build up from, whether it be a house, a career, or spiritual practices. And honesty with oneself is a must, in ALL things.

Thank you for posting 🙏

Thank you, Supreme Guardian Hidden Warrior, for this timely reminder and post. These are such fundamentally important matters, that everything else is built upon. Personally, I need to work on my sleep habits, as they could be much more structured and disciplined.

This is so true. Even experts of any profession take some time to refresh the basics to ensure everything is on a solid foundation, as you wrote 🙏

Thank you SG!

I'm still learning, the same way as you do, the same way as we all do.

This is the targeted message.

Those who will get the furthest in this path are those who master the “beginner/ foundational work”

I myself have been guilty of piling on more meditations instead of giving proper time to a certain meditation or practice until it is developed

the fact is that these are fundamental to everything else you will do. they effectively multiply the effect of the later meditations.

personally my absolute favourite remains the Dot meditation.

These more recent additions also give guidelines to healthily navigate most aspects of life which are important for growth.

as someone who is recently overcoming health issues which resulted in a very sedentary lifestyle and muscle atrophy , something like the physical exercise section proves to be invaluable .

The path consists of many various skills and habits that need to be sharpened. The temple of Zeus provides the formula for this

Thank you SG Hidden Warrior 🙏🏼⚡️

Great reminder brother SG HiddenWarrior, I love how everything is so well structured now, and it's so easy to start and follow a clear path. I remember when I was new, I was a bit confused on what to do. This is the best time to be a Zevist. Everything is available in such an easy way to process and execute.

Thank you SG Hidden Warrior. Ironically many people out there are looking for the most advanced most powerful knowledge to improve their lives, when they don't realize that the basic conditions of living that they lay for themselves play a major role into how their life flows. What you eat, how you spend your time, what you watch, what physical activities you undergo etc. sound like common every day things but these are definitory for one's life quality and even spiritual advancement.
