Greetings, my Brothers and Sisters of the Temple of Zeus.
I want to write this very brief post to share with you the idea that, from time to time, it is very good to go back to basics. It is nothing new; it has been stated many times over the years, but I believe this is an especially good time for members of the Temple of Zeus to do so.
Thanks to the tireless work of our Clergy, with honorable mention to High Priest Zevios Metathronos and Priest Alexandros Iowno, the Temple of Zeus website has been updated, refined, and brought to an exceptional level of quality, both in content and usability. A monumental amount of knowledge has been shared, and probably every page has been expanded and perfected.
We have many members who have been on this spiritual path for many years, dedicated to Zeus for a long time. It is a wonderful time to take an honest look at how well you understand and remember the fundamentals: the aura, chakras, breathing techniques, the origins and Declarations of the Temple of Zeus.
Now, the main website doesn't contain just knowledge; it provides clear instructions on how to structure your routines and gives you the tools to gain mastery over your basic instincts, from beginner to advanced levels. For example:
Go back to the beginning and do a reality check. Don't ego trip, and don't be shy about admitting to yourself that you may be lacking some basic information. You won't gain anything from lying to yourself.
This doesn't mean that everyone needs to abandon their current practices and start all over again. It means being honest enough to identify any gaps in our foundations and disciplined enough to correct them.
It is a hundred times better to say to yourself, "Okay, I see that I still have difficulties handling something listed in the beginner section. Let me adjust my routine to make sure I can move forward with strong foundations," than to keep pushing forward like a bull, only to find yourself doing advanced techniques when you are not even able to practice void meditation for a few minutes.
Knowing something intellectually is not the same as having mastered it through practice, nor does simply reading something mean that you have truly internalised its content. Read carefully, ask yourself what you have just read, and try to repeat and summarise it in your own words.
Going back to basics is not going backwards. It is making sure that every step forward rests on solid foundations.
