Aura Cleaning and Protection

Is it required to state an affirmation before aura cleaning?

Currently I am doing...

Brigid x9 (normal before any task for me)

"Sowilo is cleansing and removing any and all negative energy, thoughtforms, bindings, ill will, and curses on or connected to my soul that have been directed at me, and is returning them to their senders." x3

Then visualizing the Sowilo rune desending through my body and cleansing my soul three times.

"I am always spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally safe, secure, protected, powerful, strong and healthy in every way." x3

Is this a correct way to do aura cleaning and protection? Or should I not bother affirming the Sowilo vibrations when using it to clean?

While vibrations and affirmations do have a positive tangible result, it's also important to look at 2 things regarding cleaning an protection:

1) What's the main cause of negative events/states of being according to my natal chart and what I observe in my daily life?

2) What does it truly mean to be clean and protected? How would you know? Why aren't you clean and protected now?

The answer to the first one will be in your chart and experiences, for the second it involves what state of being you currently are in. The greatest form of cleaning and protection is alignment with Maat and the Gods.

AOP is good, and so are protective runes, the prayer to Zeus for protection is important as well and has helped a lot and still is.

For cleaning it's about targeting the main source of negativity in your life. What's the main thing causing you to feel negative and down currently? That's likely a major source of the dross in your aura. Doing a cleansing work targeting that specifically in your affirmation will lead to better results than a generic "My aura is clean" kind of affirmation.

Most importantly, aligning with the Gods is super important. God rituals are good way of doing that, but even reciting a God's name in your mind over and over for let's say 10-20 minutes a day would make you more receptive to them. Vibrating a God's name would also work in that regard.

The more aligned you become with the Gods, the more you'll be in a different, more benevolent and intelligent state of rule. You'll move on from being ruled by your chart and "fate" to being more so aligned with the Gods which grants a lighter state of being and Divine protection.
