Athame and xian grandfather.

Greetings brothers and sisters.
I have a pocket knife that my now deceased grandfather gave me. He was a xian but even so I love him dearly even in death. Now about the pocket knife, would it be possible to make this knife my Athame or would it not be a good idea because he was a xian? Just understand that the reason that I'd like this knife to be my athame is because it has many good memories attached to it and it reminds me of him. It'd just be nice to have something that was his be spiritually connected to my workings.
If its not possible, I truly understand.

You can definitely use it! It does not matter that he was xian, you can just clean it with Satanic energy, and then consecrate it (the instructions on how to consecrate ritual tools are somewhere on the site, I'm a bit short on time or I would find it for you).

An athame is a tool YOUR tool it is meerly a conduit of your energy
and it is to be honest not neccesary in any working meerly helpful like crystal ect. So it really dosent matter if the knife belonged to a xian when it becomes an athame it is your athame it may be in honour of your grandfather but in terms of magical working that has no relevance and so feel free to use it if it has sentimental value i see no possible problem with using that as your athame because when you
consencrate it your cleanse it of all past energies.
