The heroes of Uderzo and Goscinny faced an evil villaatist named Coronavirus called Coronavirus in 2017 on the album 'Asterix in Italy'.
It often refers to The Simpsons' ability to predict the future, from Donald Trump's presidency to the parental pin to several Nobel laureates. It is unclear how Matt Groenning's series has managed to anticipate these and many other events, but it seems that she is not alone with that power.
As several tweeters have discovered, Asterix and Obélix successfully confronted a villain named Coronavirus in a comic published in 2017 and whose action also takes place in Italy.
In the comic, Asterix in Italy, the characters created by Uderzo and Goscinny face in a quadratric race a certain Coronavirus, a masked character who, about to win them the game, ends up suffering an accident a few meters from the finish line, favoring finally the victory of the Gauls.
When the mask is ripped off, the reader discovers that behind it is hiding a Julius Caesar eager to claim the triumph. The coincidence is twofold: the race takes place in Italy, chance more than remarkable in the face of recent events.
