This is a follow-up to my previous post Another School Shooting.

Many people think when in times of chaos and destruction, everyone will lose their minds and run around screaming their heads off; especially children, especially girls. And while a lot certainly do that, there are always heroes who rise above their fear and help others.

During the school shooting, a 12 year old girl girl was shot through the head while trying to lock the library door to protect her classmates. With the shooter still there firing shots, two of her 12 year old classmates picked her up and carried her to safety, and then one of her friends carried her out of the school to receive help. (She is still in critical condition in the hospital.)

When one 12 year old was shot and killed, her friend refused to believe she was dead and continued trying CPR for her, instead of hiding. Even with shots being fired, she refused to give up on her friend.

A 15 year old male was in the washroom when the shots began; when he came out, he saw another student lying in the hallway badly injured, and he rushed to get a teacher to help, even while hearing shots continuing to fire. They carried the student to a classroom, locked the door, and performed first aid.

16 or 17 students were hiding in the gymnasium equipment locker room (with their brave teacher guarding them, he was shot at but uninjured while trying to find out what was happening). They stayed silent as they heard what they thought may have been the shooter prowling around outside. One student had a pen and paper and wrote a message of hope to pass around to the other students, they passed it silently from hand to hand, and helped calm a hysterical 12 year old.

Other students helped protect their classmates by barricading classroom doors with their desks to prevent the shooter from entering.

Many other students, especially older students, were comforting and protecting younger students during the crisis; they were in lock-down for around 4 hours until the police were able to determine that there were no other shooters and evacuate everyone. (The police arrived at the scene within 2 minutes of being called, a quick response that is being praised world-wide; unfortunately, the shooter had done an extreme amount of damage in such a short time.)

I hope all those who survived, and the families of those who didn't, will heal from their trauma...

My greater hope is that this will never happen again. And that is why we need our Gods, who can guide humanity to a better state of existence.

Thank you for writing this, High Priestess Lydia. The heroic acts of these children really go overlooked in these kinds of situations; so many more would have been harmed had no one done anything to help each other. They are very brave and strong, especially at such a young age.

May the victims who survived and all grieving families find solace and peace in their lives.

May the people who commit horrible crimes such as these be given absolute, unrelenting justice and cruel punishment in this lifetime and the afterlife.

Thank you, Divine High Priestess Lydia, for sharing this powerful and heartbreaking account. The courage, selflessness, and love these children showed in the face of such horror are deeply moving and humbling.

I pray that all who survived, and the families of those who did not, will find healing, strength, and peace from their trauma. My hope, too, is that with the guidance of our Gods, humanity will be elevated so that tragedies like this no longer occur.

Sorry that happened in your area that’s heart breaking and disgusting

Blessed be her soul and this should be a testament to us about what we "forget" when we "grow up". She was a hero.

This is for all school shootings. The reason why this one in particular caught my attention was because it wasn't in an American city, for once. The evil is spreading even to places generally considered safe.

This provoked an overwhelming emotional surge and brought back a lot of things. People are generally not aware of what children are capable of. They're more that just little people, they have something most adults do not. They can teach us and show us what we should strive to. A portion of divinity that's suffocated as they grow up.

Also, in a war the worst thing that happens is not people killing each other but the children that witness it and go through that experience to come out physically, emotionally and mentally crippled. Their suffering is more powerful and more damaging than anything else and mustn't be allowed to happen.

This sort of thing (the school shootings) can only be prevented by our taking charge of society and reforming it to reflect what we really are. I'm sorry for children nowadays that can't have what I had growing up. It's our responsibility to make things right and unfortunately they'll have to continue the fight.

I apologize for the little outburst and going slightly off topic maybe.
