WHAT DOES XIAN MEAN?

this question might sound stupid..
but when we talk abt xians, who are we exactly referring to ?

does it mean Christianity?
does it mean the sect of people living in china?( quite popular during 200 BC).
or does it refer to the people who live in seclusion without any social relation?

Xian = christian. We are crossing out the "christ" since he doesn't exist. Pronounced as "ex-en", not "shian".
