I used Tor browser to check the link out. It said "This website (www.jewishpress.com) attempted to extract HTML5 canvas image data, which may be used to uniquely identify your computer."

Here's a comment from the Tor forum:

Websites can request several configuration settings from your browser in order to help them printing the best page format for you.

But by requesting your browser's specific abilities (here canvas is used for graphical rendering), websites could fingerprint your browser (if you have a unique configuration) across multiple sites. This is related to the Panopticlick (https://panopticlick.eff.org) method the EFF exposed, using other information sent by your browser to uniquely identify you, even without access to your IP adress. The vast array of information sent makes it easy to end up with a very unique, thus identifiable, signature.

Tails (https://tails.boum.org/), for example, can help you to make yourself look more like other users. And disable JavaScript which would allow a lot more info to be sent. Do the Panopticlick test with and without JavaScript (erase the cookie between tests). If you must use JavaScript or plug-ins such as Flash, you must use a more secure set up, such as Whonix.

Also, you have to bear in mind that against a very large and capable adversarie that listen to all Internet traffic, it can easily follow that type of trace if it exists; it's not only the individual websites requesting this information (which 99% is legitimate, just needed to improve rendering) that you should be wary of but the global big brother that is always looking over your shoulder.

I'm interested in internet safety. BUT I'm not as tech savvy as others may be. Not totally tech ignorant but close. Lol 
In other words, please say in easier to understand terminology with specific steps what may be done to better insure our safety online. Also please include an outline of what should be done to *fix* things because of our ignorance.
Then I would recommend it be put into some kind of special forum/jos topic. Along with other ideas for general, yet not realized needed safety measures. 
I realize also that seasoned SS do many safety measures automatically. It's for the others. The newly awakened. The middle supporters still working towards their serpent. And the just plain ignorant-of-such-thing-ers. 
Having a Tool Box of "police, fire, internet, and crazy-joo safety measures" just might keep an SS alive some day.

Dehna, if you are confused, re-read the post and do an internet search for any terms you do not understand. For example, if you do not know what TOR or Javascript is, do an internet search for "TOR' or "Javascript." Do not use Google. Google tracks everything you do. Use DuckDuckGo or Startpage. By understanding all of the terms, you will be able to make an informed decision regarding anything, not just internet security.
