Understanding Codes of Gods Through Art

AvatarNovice Priest Karnonnos1 min to read

The depictions of the Gods in Classical art was partially dicactic and designed to be learned from.

This is the reason the Yehubor were so singularly vicious in smashing up idols and emphasized this constantly. It was not just to destroy or loot precious objects, or to insult pagans, but to deprive humanity of discovering the path of learning from the Gods themselves.

Good post, very informative! Thank you. There's really just so much symbolism in ancient art, it's truly amazing.

Hail Father Zeus!
Hail Lord Apollo! Hail Lady Astarte!
Hail Mother Hera!
Hail to all the Gods and
Goddesses of Elysium!

The virtue of justice consists in moderation, as regulated by wisdom. — Aristotle.
