Top Chakras above the head... what's their purpose?

I've been searching the chakra pages in the JOS site and i saw the page about the top chakras above the head 

Lately i've been doing the twin serpent meditation... i've been going from root to crown... but after the second time it came naturally to me to visualize the 8th chakra above the 7th... i've just realized that the page mentions the 8th chakra but i didn't gave it attention when i first read the article...

what i'm curious is... what is the purpose of the chakras above the head... i feel a little different... something like... reaching a higher dimension... but i'm not sure, i'll have to do some more meditation to confirm it... does anyone that has done this have anything to add?!

ive heard from a book. that is full of bullshit.

but this bullshit kinda made sense.

so what ive read is that the "eight chakra" connects one to their solar system.

The 8th chakra is one for energy storage, particularly for when kundalini begins to wake and it's energy rises up the spine.
