Theoretical question(s) about sigils

How do the sigils actually work?
(When we call someone on the phone his/her phone rings but there's a complex process behind it.)
My question is: How is our call sent? In what form does it travel? How fast is it? How do the gods recieve these signals?

Where do the sigils come from? / Where did they originate?
I supposed they were passed down to certain civilizations by the gods themselves but how/when were the sigils created?
What is the connection between a sigil and a god's soul?
Did the gods create these sigils themselves or had their sigils' shape already been determined by the attributes of their souls?

Can I read/obtain information about a certain god by looking at his/her sigil? Like finding out certain aspects and attributes of him/her by the general shape and the motifs it contains?

Can sigils be created? Can a human have a sigil too? If yes, is it already determined or is it up to us to create them?
Can we be summoned?

There isn't much information on the JOS about sigils from what I've seen. I think I remember a post from HPS Pythia that said the Gods' sigils represent formulas for a given meditation, if you know how to read them. Which she was researching at the time, but the post was made many years ago and AFAIK she hasn't followed up on it yet. Kinda like the information about rune fitting.

I think you can probably discern a little bit of info about a God by looking at their sigil, but it's not much more than you'd learn by reading their description. Like how Baal Zebul has like a hornet shape for his sigil, and him being the Lord of all that Flies and specializing in divination with insects, for example.

As far as "calling" goes, I'm not sure how sigils work. Maybe it's like an engraving on the soul, and by focusing on the sigil, you're directing energy into finding a shape that can only be found on that being's soul, thereby attempting to establish a link.

Humans can definitely create sigils for varying purposes. It must have links to the unconscious and be meaningful to you on a deep and individual level. I think of them as being something between thoughtforms and menhirs for lack of better word(think of the thing that you make for the race rituals). But that's probably not quite correct.
