a few games nowadays will be putting a bit of truth into their games without knowing it as people seek new content for their games, they will go into the legends of old religions and put that in their games. for example, Square Enix uses a ton of stuff out of norse mythology for their final fantasy games. they use the names of the old gods for summons, etc...
the term "devil trigger" could be reffering to the rising of the kundalini or the completion of the magnum opus. i have only played the first 3 levels of devil may cry 3, and that was a few years ago. so i dont know much about the game.
