All my life I had this thing where I'll smell different scents than could no way possible be coming from anything around me but when it happened it was very, very random like every blue moon.

Since I've been consistent with meditations it's happening more often like a few times a week. For example, one morning at 6:30 I woke up to the smell of a bonfire. I'm back at the family home right now but it is within city limits and there's no way possible it was coming from one of the neighbors. Besides that, all the windows were closed and the smell was more like it was something right in front of me.

Another time, I was burning a candle in my room. A couple hours later while away from the home I was walking and it was like I walked into a wall of the odor of that same candle.

Other kinds of smells have been sweet or medicine-like or musky.

What does all this mean, if anything?

Hi.

I think you may have a form of Synesthesia. I have it as well.

Sometimes, when watching pictures or films, a scent suddenly hits me like I am actually there and can smell even the furniture up to the person's scent.

When i was younger, i could see swirling colors coming from sounds when i had my eyes closed. I thought this was normal but sadly have lost the ability as i got older.

My advice would be to relax and concentrate on the scents when it happens. It will happen a lot more.

I have synesthesia too, but mine is with colors, touch and taste. I feel and taste colors, basically. Meditation definitely helps develop it.

Hail Satan!

Synesthesia??? Really??? It's interesting that you say that because I am totally confused on how to even begin to do this. I keep reading and reading that page on the JoS hoping something will click before I just give up and post a question to the group. You know how you read something 50 times and the light bulb finally goes on? Yeah, my bulb hasn't come on yet...lol.

I'm just not getting it. Maybe if it was explained in a different way??? I don't know.

This might help you understand it a bit more, as there are different forms of it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia

Thanks Lydia. I'm not sure if that really helped. I'll have to read it a few more times and slowly. However, it did remind me that Thursdays always made me think of the color purple as in grape flavored candies. I never knew why. I've just always "seen" Thursdays as purple. I will need to grasp a better understanding of the whole synesthesia before I can figure out the purple thing and the smells. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being perfect understanding, I'm at about a 1.5. I do appreciate your help.

HAIL SATAN!

Thursdays have always been purple for me too! Lol that's awesome. It's most likely because it is ruled by Jupiter, which in turn rules the crown chakra, which is purple/violet. And Jupiter is purple-y in itself. At least for me.

I've been meaning to keep a notebook about all the colors and circumstances where I'm reminded of the colors, to maybe help develop it further if I'm checking up on it. Eating food, what color does it taste like, what certain scents smell like (I have an incense that smells bright yellow), and so on.

Hail Satan!

That's pretty cool :) I know this is an old post, but whatever
I like commentary
It happens to me too! Certain things set it off
OR this really cool thing
If an energy is strong enough, I'm pretty sure the scent that was around at the time (if it had some power to it) will stick around in a thoughtform type
Sometimes you can tell if there was an event at a place by a smell!
Like example downstairs in my old room is where I did my dedication to satan<3
I had to switch rooms with my brother
and the smell of my insence and candles, by now, wouldve surely been gone its been a few years
and every now and then he says he'll walk into the room and he'll get a huge smack in the face with a strong smell of insence and cold and it freaks him out:D
