respect and xtians

maybe this has been said a few dozen times in this group but I can't help to ask, is it all right to show respect to the parents, who in this case are diehard xtians and treat every person who avoids their xtian ways and curse that religion like they are nothing but trash?

well there's that an the fact that my mother especially, loves to threaten me with beatings and stuff if i talk against her crappy xtian church or talk back to her when she is telling me about her stupid xtian crap, or when i leave her talking to the walls because i do not wish to hear it. So for her you are supposed to be forced to listen to that trash and understand her xtian ways but when i try to defend myself and talk about how she should at least respect me and my points of view and that her religion is what has this planet so messed up she says "that i am below her" and that "who am i supposed to be, because i am not superior to her." or that i will "burn in hell" but it happens that when she says that i laugh like crazy.

Well how old are you? I understand if your young and have to follow by the rules of your parents. Sometimes it's best not to say nothing. But she shouldn't be forcing you or making threats just because you don't want to listen about her religion. If your showing her respect she should show you some too. Parent or not. To me this is abuse in certain ways. I know how you feel expect it's not my parents, sisters or brothers it's my aunt and other family members.

<td val[/IMG]I grew up xtian,  and have known xtians all my life. one of the things about fundy and other kinds of xtian sects is that they tend to attract people who are mentally unstable- (recruiting former alcoholics, drug addicts, and convicts doesn't make things any better either) so, try to keep this in mind. your parents are mentally disturbed; try to ignore them... arguing with a crazy person is useless.   debating with these people is a waste of time, time that is better spent on improving yourself and becoming self-sufficient. remember that formal education will earn you a living, but self-education will earn you a fortune. so, spend your time educating yourself.. focus your energy on self-improvement, and leave those losers behind. let them waste their time chasing their tails.. things are certain to get better for you, because you have an advantage: you can think clearly.   i am starting to think more and more that "christianity" was invented by paul to destroy the gentiles.. the evidence is strong.. rome was destroyed and europe went into the dark ages.. and i speak to so many people who have their heads filled with utter nonsense..non-christians will always have an advantage because they can think clearly...
