That said, I disagree that people who took retarddelics (also known as psychodelics) can no longer serve in the military.
The issue with psychedelics is simply that they serve no actual purpose at all, and can easily mislead people. I tried shrooms once, and while the experience was interesting, the only thing I learnt from it was that out of body experiences are real. 
It took me way way longer to figure out how to astral travel due to that "done for me" experience. Also, the come-down from those drugs is horrible, and yes they absolutely ruin your aura.
Another thing I tried was woodrose seeds. Again, it opened up an interesting part of my psyche, but did it help me in any way other than re-arranging some childhood issue and putting that in perspective? Not really, the only other thing was that my Kundalini was activated to a certain degree, which was quite amazing.
Again the come down was hard and absolutely not worth the "trip".
No, focus on actual spiritual work = meditation.
You can produce these experiences and much much more, while STRENGTHENING YOURSELF rather than weaking yourself.
