Questions about aura cleansing

For a number of years now ive been preforming the aura cleansing meditation on the jos site. However, ive often felt that there was some kinda great flaw in my interpretation of the instructions givin. So, perhaps i should explain how i preform this, and perhaps someone could explain how my method is incomplete, or possibly harmful? As instructed; i go into a semi-deep trance. I then begin to envision things (or past memories) that make me feel good. I use these to help draw in the white light that i breath in/absorb into my aura. After which, i breath in that light into my 3rd eye, creating a small ball of light. Then i breath in the light into my crown chakra. Next i do the same for my throat chakra. The next parts is where im a bit confused if im doin properly: I envision a ball of light in the center of my chest for my heart chakra. Then the left shoulder chakra, n right shoulder. Next i do the same for the center of my spine, then my stomach, then pelvis. After that i envision myself upsidedown hanging from a inverted cross, where i breath in a ball of light for each chakra again, only all at once. It definetly has a possitive effect, but i would like to know if a slightly different method could do this a little better?

<td val[/IMG]I have found that sometimes our gds will give us different ways to do things according to who we are.Hagentti always does things differently for me because of my age. but it never fails whatever she tells me always works. she even pushes me at times when I don't push myself hard enough. if what you're doing works for you then that's great that's what I say. the way that I work my asanas and my yoga is probably much different than most to but it works for me so that's all that matters.

I don't know where you got this meditation from, but it sounds nothing like the Aura Cleansing I know of from the JoS, actually, like none of the different ways suggested on the JoS.

http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/AURA.html
http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpent ... ction.html (The bottom of the page)

Just a few. If you are having difficulty locating where each chakra is, then take a look at the opening the chakras section.

The meditations on the JoS site are tried and tested. They work. Simple as that. Some may require a bit of personal alteration to better suit you, this is fine, as long as you are still doing the same basic meditations and don't make any major changes.
When new, it is best to stick with the meditation found on the JoS website and not drift off track trying to find other meditations from outside sources. There are many out there who will try to decieve you and give you false meditations that will either do nothing for you, or can even harm you.
Again, the meditations on the JoS are tried and tested, use these.
If you have questions about specific meditations, that you're having difficulty understanding, or if your GD told you to do 'this or that' and you're not sure, then feel free to ask here. We are all happy to help out.
