This has been a annoying me for the past few days, a fair few people on the site say that it's better to be a Satanist when summoning a demon, my question is why? In the legend of king Solomon he summoned the 72 demons of the goetic, who did what he asked and was perfectly safe because of protective circles and magical symbols.

I was thinking for my first summoning that I would try Barbatos, he seems rather interesting as it's said he can lead men to hidden treasures protected by enchantments, would it be wrong to request if he could do just that? Or is it too greedy or shallow a request even to make one's life better? If not, what do demons usually ask for in return other than respect during these meetings? And has anyone ever had contact with Barbatos? What's he like?

Also if one summons a demon to learn a language or knowledge for the sake of it, of gaining knowledge that is, is that allowed or frowned upon?

The Demons are free now and summoning them through such abusive means will get you fucked. Not to mention that they are our friends to begin with. Would you like to ask your friend a favor by tying him up and ordering him to do it, while cursing and threatening him? What kind of a Satanist are you to even consider it?

As for the request, it is up to the Demon to agree or not to agree. Just make sure to offer something in return. Some of the best options here is to work to advance Satanism or/and against Satan's enemies, but make sure to ask if the Demon agrees on this.

And asking for knowledge is not a bad thing, quite the opposite actually. One of the things Demons do is guide us through various ways.

I find your questions rather offensive .. Read the JOS section on Demons and Satanism before asking such stupid questions. i would like some older members to deal with this guy.

I'm sorry, I meant no offense and I certainly wasn't planning on summoning them that way I was just curious
