Question about the use of runes.

    I have read the runes section on the JoS multiple times in order to make sure I fully understood  how to use them. But, I just can't understand the steps in using the runes. For example, I would like to use Mannaz to improve my intelligence and memory.    
     Please offer your assistance.

You need a Rosary to work with runes, if you actually read the runes section then you would've stumbled on this;

A rosary empowers rune usage, but it's definetly not necessary. To use runes you just vibrate a rune a number of times that corresponds with it's position in the runic kaballah(I hope thats written correctly lol), so for example, thurisaz is number 3, so you vibrate it 3, 6, 9, 12, etc. times. If you want to increase your intelligence with the mannaz rune, you should use an affirmation like "In a positive and healthy way, the energies of mannaz are permanently increasing my intelligence." or "In a positive and healthy way, my intelligence permanently increases.".There are different ways for stating the affirmation. You can either do it in-between vibrations (vibrate your rune a few times, then state and affirmation, then vibrate a few times again and then do another affirmation, and so on) or you can vibrate the full number of times and then state the affirmation several times once you are done.
