With pregnancy comes the opportunity to give a new life to a soul, one the Gods have chosen to be your child in this life. Perhaps you already have a past-life connection to your new child, or perhaps they are gifted to you because you will help each other grow.

The following are guidelines for what is safe or what is to be avoided during your pregnancy. This child, your child as a Zevist, has infinite possibilities for growth; you need to ensure they get the best possible start to their life, while keeping yourself safe and healthy through your pregnancy.

Pranayama that is beneficial during pregnancy:

-Full complete breaths (do not hold the breath if this is uncomfortable). You can do this any time you feel the need to through your day, and before going to sleep at night. You can focus on breathing in prana, into yourself and into your baby. If using visualization, make sure you are seeing bright healthy white-gold light. Don’t do this near pollution, waste, or near toxic people.

-Sitali and Stikari, these will help cool your body when you feel overheated.

-Alternate nostril breathing is fine, but do not force the breath retention. During pregnancy you might find holding the breath to feel uncomfortable, this is because the diaphragm is compressed and needs to move more gently and not controlled. You can do this pranayama without any breath retention.

Pranayama to avoid during pregnancy:

-Breath of Fire, it involves too much abdominal pumping and heats up the body. You can safely do this until your second trimester or until you feel you are running too hot, whichever comes first.

-Ujjayi will also overheat your body.

-Krama is to be avoided, as you should allow your diaphragm to be fully natural and not controlled during pregnancy.

-Any pranayama that requires holding your breath.

Yoga during pregnancy:

*It is best to go over asanas with a qualified yoga instructor who has taken a course which included prenatal yoga. There are free videos online, do some research to ensure the instructor is qualified.

-This is very important: during pregnancy, your body releases the hormone Relaxin. This causes your body to be able to stretch more, so many pregnant women think they are able to stretch into poses more deeply. Do not do this! You need to focus on strengthening, not stretching as much as you can. If you stretch fully, you will increase your risk of tearing muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Read my post on balance between stretching and strengthening. Yoga is not just about stretching as much as you can. Your body needs to be strong enough to safely grow and deliver your precious baby.

-Slow down as much as you need to. During pregnancy your heart rate is quicker, your blood volume is higher, and your body temperature heats up faster. These all cause pregnant women to faint or become flushed, your doctor will have gone over this with you but you need to keep these factors in mind during yoga. Allow yourself to take a break as often as you need to. Pregnancy is not the time to compete or aim for a new personal record. Do slow flow yoga, not vigorous.

-Always take a wider stance than usual, to allow for a safer balance, and practice standing poses near a wall or holding onto a chair. Your sense of balance and center of balance shifts while pregnant, so take extra precaution.

-Don’t do abdominal strength poses where you are moving against gravity, lying on your back and using abs to lift yourself; sit-ups or crunches for example. Diastasis recti (the abdominal wall separates) happens when you engage your core too much in exercises where you go against gravity, you don’t want that to happen. You can do plank pose and tabletop (on hands and knees) while lightly engaging your core; here the baby belly is towards the ground, working with gravity. Some core work helps your back and your organs, and helps during delivery.

-Sufi grind and cat-cow are healthy warm-ups and will help ease low back pain.

-Don’t do back bends, except for your upper back to counter slouching shoulders.

-For twists, only twist from the upper back, not the lumbar region.

-Malasana is fine until week 30, then avoid it until after you have given birth and recovered.

-Don’t do any pose that feels uncomfortable for you. Pregnancy is not the time to keep advancing with yoga, you need to do what is best and safest for you and your baby. Cut out any pose you don’t feel is beneficial, you can consider adding them back in after you have delivered your baby and recovered.

-For corpse pose, starting in your second trimester it is advised to do this lying on your left side with a bolster or pillow between your legs, and place a pillow or folded blanket under your head to keep your neck in line with your spine. This has to do with blood circulation and a vein that runs along your right side, if you lie on your back or your right side, the baby can slightly block it and decrease your blood flow. You will sense on your own when this happens and shift to a more comfortable position even in your sleep, so it’s not something to be alarmed about, but having this knowledge is good for your yoga practice.

Magick & Meditation:

-Avoid black magick. If you are fortunate enough to have a Zevist husband, he can do any necessary black magick during your pregnancy. If needed, call upon your Guardian Daemon to take care of any problems. The Gods will help you more during this sacred time.

-Avoid any negativity in general. If this cannot be avoided, then do extra cleaning as soon as you can after, and again later that day or the next morning.

-Focus on positivity, happiness, self-awareness, nourishment, healthy growth, and creative projects.

-Void meditation should be done daily.

-The Awareness meditations are all safe and beneficial during pregnancy except perhaps the Djed Pillar of Osiris; but avoid the breath retention if it is not comfortable for you. Just do a normal breath and allow yourself to relax and trance if possible. [In fact it would be best to have completed these before pregnancy; the healthier and more advanced you are, the better for your future baby.]

-Self-reflection and self-inspection are imperative during this time. These practices will also help you tune into your baby, building your bond with your precious child.

-Anything that encourages self-awareness and nurturing yourself. It is important during pregnancy for you to focus on nurturing yourself and your child, and having a healthy mental and emotional state. Maintaining a daily journaling practice will be of benefit.

-Clean and protect daily, twice daily if needed.

-The Self Love meditation can be done, and focus the energy on your baby too. This meditation will also build your bond with your child.

Furthermore, try to establish a close relationship with your Guardian Daemon. If you are not yet pregnant, the more advanced you are now, the more advanced your future children will be. Spend more time overcoming your problems in life and deepening your spiritual practices sooner rather than later.

May you have a blessed and safe pregnancy 🙏

Many women here in the forum are guardians of a new life about to be born. I find this thread necessary and very useful so that women can continue to evolve spiritually and at the same time prepare their child for what will be their future life (including spiritual life).
Thank you, High Priestess, it's a fantastic post!

Thank you very much. This is one of those writings that can guide many women toward a deeper awareness of this wonderful stage of life and its beauty, helping them recognize the sacredness and power of this extraordinary moment in life. It can also encourage men to develop a sensitivity they might not yet possess toward their partners during this delicate time.

I am especially grateful for the part where you speak about negativity and black magic. In recent months, I have had the gift of closely observing the different stages of pregnancy through a relative of mine. It was beautiful and deeply moving, but it also helped me understand how demanding and difficult it can be for a woman to maintain her mental and emotional strength when any form of negativity surrounds her.

A woman who carries life deserves to walk the path of pregnancy free from emotional burdens. A woman who carries life is a living temple. The path of pregnancy should be safeguarded, protected, and cleansed of every form of negativity. Around her there should be light, support, and conscious presence. Men need to understand this responsibility so they can become steady pillars of support and sources of strength and reassurance, who help protect both mother and child. Your words contribute meaningfully to this awareness.
