Its just a game of favourtism. Opt out the old pope for a new, fresher and more youth relatable pope. Bring in a new guy to say "oh that old bunk about gays, that was that old guy, I'm hip and kool and its okay to be gay." And all the people detesting Christianity for their anti-gay stance flock to this new pope who is so 'modern' and 'reltable'.
I saw on the news lastnight, the pope was in Rio, and he was taking big gulps from a cocktail someone handed him. Again, trying to fit in with the youth, 'he was drinking a cocktail in Rio, he's so hip and relatable to us youth, I like this pope'. Blah blah, again a mass flock of deluded fools congregating around him.
There will come a point when the majority will detest this pope for one reason or another. And they will opt him out for a new, more relatable pope, if they haven't fallen under, which is very likely in the coming few years.
