The 4 Pillars have to do with the following: Fire is the Spirit, Water is the Soul, Air is the Intelligence (pure intellectuality), Earth is the physical body. All the pillars meet in the middle point, which is the Shushumna, the Aether and is all the above unified. This is what makes man special.
