The late Dr. Revilo P. Oliver was the Professor of the Classics at the University of Illinois and a renowned expert on the jews.
Here is his theory of the origin of the word 'jew'
YHWDY (most likely pronounced 'YA HOO DIE) - Hebrew
Yhudai - Aramaic
Ioudaios - Greek
Iudaeus - Latin
Juieu - Old French
Ieuu - Middle English
Iewe - Shakespearean English
Jew - modern English

Al Jilwah: Chapter IV

"It is my desire that all my followers unite in a bond of unity, lest those who are without prevail against them." - Shaitan
