I don't think the point was you need to do KY right when you wake up, just do some kind of yoga when you wake up. Personally I wake up 2 hours before work or school so I can do 2 different routines of yoga, hatha yoga takes a while so KY might be better for time.
You should also check that link out it doesn't take a lot of time and gets the job done.
