I decided to post my "experiment" with Kamadeva here because in one of the threads (where someone mentioned how effective the Kamadeva mantra is), it motivated me to start. I've been doing it for about 11 days now and plan to go for 29–40 days total.
Just a quick note before the story: so far, I've never done fewer than 108 repetitions — usually more like 158, 256, etc. The mantra has become a pretty regular part of my daily routine.
I'm also following the 40-day program + awareness training.
How it's been so far:
In the first few days, I felt absolutely nothing different — neither materially nor spiritually. Then, in the first week's Wednesday, a friend gave me the contact of a Hindu woman. We talked, I found out she does cartomancy, and during a reading we did, I remembered what I was practicing for Kamadeva. I asked her if he was actually working on it (I didn't want my prayers to be in vain), and according to the cards, yes — he was, and I could even stop mantraring if I wanted. I understood, but since I was enjoying the practice, I kept going.
That same night after the reading, I dreamed of Kamadeva and me in the same room (my bedroom). He was standing right in front of me, staring into my eyes, and I was staring back. No words were exchanged before I woke up.
After that, the days passed without any major events. When I could no longer mantra on the bus (one of my few free times during the week), I started doing it in my room before sleep. Without the worry of stopping, my average mala went up to 158+, and I started combining it with third-eye opening.
During those longer night sessions (256+ repetitions followed by Thaum), while sitting on my bed, I began to notice a dark, human-like silhouette — almost like a shadow figure.
(Quick side note: the last time I mantrad on the bus, I did Thaum way more than recommended — over 10 times — combined with Kamadeva, and I ended up with a headache the whole night. Lmao.)
The week continued pretty stable spiritually — no big events. The most interesting "coincidence" was one night when I didn't check the planetary hour, but decided to mantra for Kamadeva anyway. When I finally looked, it was exactly Venus hour. Thought that was cool.
The most significant recent event happened today: while returning home and mantraring for Kamadeva on the way, I saw a parrot (Kamadeva's bird) during the trip. Then, right in front of my house, a bunch of birds very similar to the ones in Kamadeva's paintings appeared.
For now, that's all the noticeable differences.
I know some of this might sound like seeing meaning where there isn't any — just coincidence — but I'm trying to stay open and observe. Lol.
Any comments, explanations, or questions — I'd be happy to hear them.
One last thing about my practice: my visualization is pretty weak, so I've focused much more on the sound of the mantra (I have excellent auditory awareness — something I found cool when I read the awareness section; my auditory awareness is already fully mastered).
Final question: Can we consider Kamadeva as one of "our" Gods? I've seen that most of the Gods on the site are the ones from demonology books, so I got curious about this.
Obs2: Thank you so much to everyone who replied to my first post — it really helped.
