Greetings,

I have always been fascinated by Asipu . It was a healer, a Priest in Ancient Mesopotamia. They used curative magic. Do you think they were demi-Gods? Daemons? They were represented as fish-men

The fish-men representation was inspired by and in honor of the Abgal/Apkallu (Adapa, Oannes...) who were semi-divine. The ashipu were just human doctors that did have a priestly dimension, although very skilled in magical workings that were usually combined with the expertise of an asu, they combined several roles into a vocation that doesn't quite have an equivalent nowadays. Do you maybe aspire to be one some day?

Some time ago I had some signals that led me to the figure of the Asipu. I wasn't sure what to think. Btw very interesting thanks! I read abkut these Asu , also named A-Zu, other types of doctors in sumer
