Lower back pain

I remember seeing before something about lower back pain possibly being kidney energy being low or something?Anyway, I'm 19 and Have lower back pain. I've had it since I was like 15 years old, it's been getting slowly and steadily worse. I went to a chiropractor for several months weekly, and while it made some progress, it didn't make a lot, and frankly, it was too costly to keep going because at the rate it was taking, it would have taken several years to get completely better. The chiropractor said it was scar tissue in the muscles, but idk why I would have that since I've never had a back injury.
Any help would be appreciated thanks :)
 
Lower back pain can amongst other things be related to depleted kidney energy yes.

Have you had any decline in the function of your eyes or hearing during this time?

Urinary problems including frequent pale urination or lack of proper urination?

Do you feel any unusual thermal sensations? Unusually hot or cold for the circumstances?

Have you ever suffered mania or depression?
 
No not sight, but Yes I have had some hearing loss in the past few years. Very gradual, but noticeable.
No urinary problems

I did suffer from depression for several years. Around 7 years, but no longer.
 
So you don't find that you get cold or warm easily?

Is the soreness in your lower back relieved by stretching or exercise?
 
Well, I guess I do easily. Like, if I exercise, or if it's warm, I'll warm up pretty fast, and same with cold, but I thought that was fairly normal..
Exercise does not relieve it, but it rarely causes discomfort either. Stretching DOES help it, however it's slow progress. Usually (as of late) it has been worse in the mornings, and as I go through the day it gets better as my muscles and everything warm up.
 
No sleeping issues except for waking up not feeling rested enough (although I think that's more of a issue with me not getting to bed early enough)
I do have chronic headaches (just headaches, not migraines). I will also mention that's explained by my astrology (not saying it doesn't factor in, just letting you know)
 
Can you describe the headaches? The location, type and duration of the pain, anything which relieves or aggravates them?
 
I've honestly yet to find anything in common between them. Location is different every time, type of pain is almost always different, as for the duration, it usually lasts around 2 hours.
Usually just sound aggravates them, and as for relief, I usually take ibuprofen for it (Nothing else really works, that I've found)

Bowel movement?

Do you urinate frequently or infrequently and what is the colour of the urine?
 
Appetite? Pretty much always hungry. But I'm young, sooo I thought that was normal
Bowel movements about once a day, sometimes less often
Urinate pretty frequently (if hydrated). Pretty much clear.However, if I'm not well hydrated (I don't really get dehydrated, just not AS hydrated as I should be) then it's pretty much bright yellow
 
Do you sweat when you sleep? Do you ever feel as though your hands, feet and chest are warm but everything else is cold?
 
Yes I sweat when I sleep. Pretty heavily.
Chest yes, but everything else not really cold. Everything feels normal, and then sometimes my chest feels extra warm
 
Ok. Well I would probably consider Kidney Yin Deficiency to be the main syndrome affecting you.

Just to rule out some other things, is it possible for you to take a photo of your tongue in natural light and email it to my private email address?

Alternatively you can describe it in terms of colour, coating colour and thickness, width of the tongue, whether it is dry or moist and any cracks you can see and their location. The more detail you include the better...
 
Normal light, so near a window but not in full sunlight or using camera flash as these will change the colours.

As discussed, base on your symptoms and tongue presentation, the underlying cause of your lower back pain is a combination of Kidney, Liver Lung and Heart yin deficiency.

This quadrilogy of Yin deficiency was referred to by the ancient books as Lily Disease, because the treatment involves the Lily Flower as the chief herb.

Naturally, I will recommend to you a multi herb formula, because this will shorten the length of time of treatment and help to improve all of the symptoms.

(This is a point on the midline so there is only one - for men it is half the distance between the scrotum and anus)

In terms of lifestyle, attempt to consume less hot and spicy foods like chilli and other hot spices which make you sweat, consume more cooling foods instead like watermelon, cucumber, other leafy greens (well cooked to prevent digestive impairment) and include plenty of water spread throughout the day.

Legumes are also good to nourish yin and clear heat especially black beans and kidney beans. Reduce the amounts of lamb and beef you eat and increase meats like chicken, pork and duck. Oysters are fantastic as are other basic fish meals.

Try to get to bed before 11 pm, earlier if possible and avoid getting too hot at night to avoid sweating.
