Hello everyone. I have been just quietly sitting back and reading and learning. But I have quick question. I am pregnant and am just wondering I there is anything holistically that I should avoid and I should get lots of in my diet. I want to start a traditional diet which includes using herbs and such to heal minor ailments. I have studied different diets and foods and stuff for years but never went to deep into the for pregnancy side of it cause I had no need to. But as I grow as a Satanist I start to see more and more phony crap put out by miss lead individuals and likes alike. So just curious if anyone here had any knowledge on anything that I should look into and stuff. Also if you have anyplce that you research and study stuff for traditional foods that would be great too as I am still looking into that too. Anyway thank you in advance. :)

Im not super knowledgeable in diet but the main thing I think of as important for everyone and I would say definitely being pregnant is to eat organic and natural foods as much as possible. I felt so much better after I started eating almost all organic. And I think eating a diet with variety is good, fruits, vegetables, meat and so forth.

Hi Jessi. I would like to respond to your post in more detail when I get some time but I would like to point out that many herbs are unsafe for pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Many herbs which have effects that accelerate blood circulation have the effect of inducing labour, and obviously this is undesirable pre-term.

You need to look after your blood though, and iron, vitamin D and vitamin B12 are best for this. Look to foods high in these nutrients, and if you are deficient in any of them (the doctor will usually notify you of this after your first blood test) then you should definitely supplement. Low iron and B12 has been linked to congenital defects as is lack of folic acid.

Thank you. I am on a budget so I have to think about that too but I am looking into my local farmers markets and stuff. I already have a place I am getting my eggs that I know are not pasteurized and the chickens are raised healthy and stuff. They are fed organic and stuff to so I know they are healthy. The people who own and run the farm are gentiles and have taken me around the fram and shown me what they do and stuff. But I am still looking into good meats and milk and what not. Is goat milk better than cow milk? Or should I stay towards almond? I don't drink a whole lot but I do use it in cooking and stuff.<hr>From: Zach Darienzo deepearth49@... [SSHealth]

Thank you for this. And I look forward to your future post. I am in my second trimester now and so far the levels have been fine which a surprise to me because I was always under the suspicion that I had low iron maybe even slightly anemic but they said it was at a normal level. But I just moved again and have not found a doctor that I trust here that will be covered by Medicaid. So I have only seen a doctor once since I found out I was. Do you have anything that would be good for headaches while I'm pregnant? I have had a headache now for 6 days off and on. It's getting unbearable and I refuse to take medication and stuff like that cause I know I can have effects on the baby.<hr>From: billoblueskees@... [SSHealth]

Can you describe the headaches?  What part of your head do they affect? What is the intensity and nature of the pain?

One herbal formula (quite literally the one and only formula that is recommended and deemed safe during pregnancy) that the Chinese give to almost all pregnant women is Dan Gui Shao Yao Wan/San (Wan San and Tang are words used interchangeably, one means powder, the other teapills and another decoction, not sure which is which personally but if you can't find one search the other terms).

This acts as a nutritive tonic to support your blood, liver function and reduce morning sickness. This formula can be taken daily from now until the baby is delivered, after which you can find a formula more suitable to your presentation as most herbs are contraindicated in pregnancy but afterwards this is no longer of concern.

The thing about readings in blood tests, and this includes any blood test it that the range in which your value might fall has to account for every person in the population, and this includes other races. This means that whilst the value may be x, for you the value should be x + 5 but the population as a statistical whole will not suffer from visible disease until the value is x - 2... if that makes sense. So you can be within 'range' but not necessarily where YOU need to be.

If you feel low in energy (fatigued), suffer from vertex headaches (top of the head, particularly dull, aching headaches which last for a long time), sore and stiff neck, bloating and stomach cramps or pain under the ribs that is dull and aching, potentially feelings of chest oppression and sinusitis symptoms then I would almost state with certainty that you have low iron and or low B12...

My headaches are always near the front of my head taking up nearly the whole forehead that starts at the hair line then radiates down. It is a constant ache with no throbbing at all. That is what makes I so bad to me is there is no relief from it. It will last for the entire day and it may go through the night I just don't notice it then cause I'm asleep.

As far as my blood levels, I understand what you are say about that. Different races, different levels. And as for me I am very fatigued all the time. I have moments where I get very weak too. Meaning if I try to pick something up, arms start to shake and I loose my grip. Also when I am standing my legs will start to shake and I feel like I about to fall. My neck and upper shoulders are almost constantly sore and stiff and have an ache to them. And I am not having them right now but before I became pregnant I would get cramps and soreness in my abdomen right under my ribs a lot.

I will definitely check into this herb and try to get some. Thank you.<hr>From: billoblueskees@... [SSHealth]

Your headaches are related to the stomach, being in the region which you have just described. This could be due to not eating enough, perhaps eating foods that aren't as easy on the stomach (although with pregnancy cravings who could blame you!) or foods which your stomach is not used to.

It could also be due to accumulation of dampness which is typical during pregnancy and the herbal formula which I mentioned will help to address this.

Ok then. Thank you again. :)<hr>From: billoblueskees@... [SSHealth]

@ Jessica
Congratulations with your pregnancy.
I hope you go along and look into the herb that CentralForce recommended. In addition to that, keep going with local farmers markets and the like, I understand about being on a budget. I guess we all are in one way or the other. Continue with the eggs and healthy organic meats, if you can find, and goats milk and or cows milk is good if you can handle it. Organic milk (preferably unpasteurized) has much nutrient density (if they are pasture raised) and it nourishing to you and your child. You may also want to put healthy fats into your diet such as organic butter too. Fats are nourishing for your brain, hormones and endocrine system.
I don't know if you saw the post by HP Don in the main groups but this will help you a lot. Also though you are on a budget, you should try to look into Cod liver oil. This is high in vitamin A and D and other trace minerals and is very important for the development of you and your baby. It doesn't cost much.

Eggs for your child when he or she is born will also support the brain function ten fold because of choline and other necessary nutrients.

Thank you soutlaw. I am looking into it just have to wait till I have the money for it. Not very expensive but I have so many bills to pay too. Lol But I have found a site to get it from. And I have been looking into cod liver oil too but again just haven't had the money for it. Meats and eggs is easy I already have a place to get those from but organic milk is gonna be a little tougher. I know a lady who sells goat cheese at the market but not sure if anyone sells milk. Will just have to look into it. I'm sure someone here does. And that post about the vegan... Just shows how stupid some people really are and willing to except anything that the media and such give them. Veganism never sounded like a healthy choice even vegetarian is lacking in a lot of nutrients and such. This kind of stuff never hits the big screw though cause then there would be people who may open their eyes and see how stupid they are being. But as for the nutrients that she and the baby is good to know so I can get plenty in for me and the baby when I start breastfeeding.<hr>From: soutlaw92@... [SSHealth]
