Exactly what ritual are you talking about? if it is the dedication ritual then understand you're NOT summoning Satan with it, your just dedicating to him. The grammar in your post sounded very rude and disrespectful. I think you need to read and study more of Joy of Satan

......you do not summon Satan. this is extremely disrespectful. Satan will come to you if and when he wishes it.

When I Dedicated, going on three years ago now, I definitely felt something - more like a presence - and I knew he was amused at what I had done to cover my tracks from the people I was living with. I didn't see anything, but I knew he was there.

A ritual is merely an established or prescribed procedure.  Being dedicated is being devoted to a task or purpose; having single-minded loyalty or integrity.  The dedication ritual is your first official act.
Their is nothing in the ritual about burning incense.  Their is nothing in the ritual about, what you should do if Satan appears before you.  Personally, I would give him a heart felt, "Hello" and "Thank You".  Just common sense there.  It's entirely up to Satan if he would like to accept your dedication, but personally, I wouldn't, if someone demanded it of me.  After the ritual you can develop your own plan, to achieve your own goals.  Having your own goals, requires your own plan.  You need to learn everything on the Joy of Satan website.  So, start by reading it.
