i am in the us army, and i am dedicated to Satan. are any other people in this situation? i know that i may claim certain spiritual rights, as far as meditation time and leave on days of spiritual importance. but in order to claim them, you must claim a religion which has relevance to them. at the same time, i do not want someone of higher rank to discriminate against me for it. are there any suggestions as to what i should do?
thank you.
ps. i do NOT represent the us army when posting on this board. i represent an individual.

I have read of many people in the same situation as you. And many Satanists in the army who cope. Personaly I wouldn't know, and hopefully one of them could help you out. But I would suggest to manage your time to alow you time to meditate as regularly as possible, And go with stating your an athiest. But some advice from someone who is in the same situation would be much appreciated.

Good luck.
Hail Enki!

know your rights as a US citizen they cannot discriminate against religion seperation of church and state I was in the airforce, higher ranking officials cannot do so. they are looked upon more highly than lower ranking and held at a heightened standard, yet then again I do also realize in the military it was different because you don't have the same rights but still it shoul hold the same either way

As a satanist who just finished my tour of duty in the Corps, i feel your pain. Satanism is not an officially recognized religion by the u.s. military, but you canget around this by telling your superiors that you are a Wiccan. Not really the most pleasant thing i know, but it will allow you leighway to request leave/special lib on holidays of importance to satanism because the average chain of command wont really know when such holidays are. Could be the lesser of two evils, as wicca is more common in the military and would be accepted without question, and you should hae no problems of discrimination. If you do, i would contact your Squadron/Battalion Equal Opportunity Officer. Usually just threatening to do so will put most commands in check because they do not want to deal with the EO
Hope this helps

Just pretend to be in one of the religions they view as being of relevance then, maybe Wicca would be the nearest one?
