SG Hidden Warrior isn't calling you a coward. He is just stating that these challenges one faces builds a person and shapes their character. If you don't invest time in bettering yourself and being a complete individual who can deal with problems even in the physical realm then you start lacking aspects of growth in your personality.
So, if I think of the slander and the spreading of these rumors as a test, I need to assess how I can overcome it and what lesson I could take away from it for myself. I don’t know how to react to such antics from colleagues who allow themselves to act this way, should I start arguing with everyone about this now? I don’t have the energy for that, and besides, it’s counterproductive if people always insist on their own way and do what they do, convinced that they’re right in their own eyes. I’ve been told many times that my reaction to certain problems says more about me than about the problem itself or the people around me, but that doesn’t explain anything. People who say things like that imply one of two things, either that my reaction to external stimuli is wrong, or that I’m the one who needs to change. But if I keep changing myself every time, what will be left of me? Recently, someone told me I need to rein in my ego, and then what? Will they tell me to turn into a rock, and am I supposed to listen? Because one person thought his truth was superior to mine? I don't know, I'm not a judge. But when other people act like they know more than I do, I start asking them questions, and if they don't like those questions, they start to use sophistry, and because of that i start to lose my patience.
Your letter also implies the consequences of using black magic, karma. But I don’t see those who slander me and spread rumors about me suffering from karma. If karma only works against me but not against the source of the problem, then that’s not fair, and I believe I should fix this myself, because I don’t see karma rushing to do anything. All my life, I’ve seen that when it comes to others, karma seems to just sit in one place, not moving, but the moment I do something bad, I get punished. So here’s what I want to say: may such karma and the very concept of karma itself be damned. There won't be any karma for me in the next life, I've already been cooked in full in this life.

Read your terms of engagement with the company. Legally some organizations can look into your personal lives upto a certain extent or monitor closely your activities on a company laptop. Read the terms of engagement till what extent privacy can be invaded legally by the company.

If there is no proof available with you there is no point engaging in useless gossip by your coworkers. If your legal rights have actually been breached take help of a lawyer and sue the company or those employees for damages.

Be smart about the problems you encounter. Not every challenge is a threat, some are opportunities that might help you in the long run.

Well said NordicSupreme, how one uses company assets such as a phone, a MiFii jetpack, laptop, websites accessed on said assets, times of day used (during business hours) , it all falls under code of conduct and incompatible activity agreements between employees and employer. Also, how one represents oneself outside of work may be in a contract, depending on the type of work, of course. Always important to read what you sign, so you know the terms you have agreed to; and furthermore, your rights!

Unfortunately, sometimes we don’t want to air our dirty laundry in public when it comes to our own home, and we don’t always want to involve the government in our personal problems—since it might rule differently than we expected, or in its own way. So if you avoid acting upon it, you will make your magic weak and void. Allow the magic to work.
