How to know if your dedication ritual worked

Hello all, Im very new to Satanism, coming from atheism. I have educated myself on our Father Satan and have preformed the Soul dedication ritual. I could not get my finger to bleed after poking my knife into it multuple times so i just signed my name in ink, recited it, folded it and burned it. My candle was orangey red and during & after the burning i did not feel anything change, so i do not know if this worked or not. I do not want to try it again because it is stated that it needn't be done more than once. Can anyone help me confirm this has worked? I 100% believed in my soul in what i wrote and what i spoke.

I have a similar problem. I did the dedication ritual. I guess my knife was too dull because I could not make myself bleed. I've cut myself before and didn't usually have this problem (I have stopped cutting since finding JoS). I have half a dozen red-marks and even some skin that raised, but I couldn't get a single drop of blood to spill. I also had to put the fire out from my paper because it got huge and I had a flashback to a vivid dream where my house burned down and I died so I dumped water on it and took the remained of the paper and buried it outside. Didn't want to flush it because that seemed disrespectful. I didn't get any strong feeling and I was wondering if the blood was a make-it or break-it part of the ritual. Need to know if I should do-over (and use a much smaller piece of paper so it won't burn so hugely) the ritual, or if all is well. I feel like I should try again.This whole experience really upset me because I feel a strong connection to fire, but when I'm around anything larger than a candle I either get very antsy (in the case of campfires) or I am consumed by fear.
The odd part is, I've burned sheets of paper before and the fire NEVER got that big before and never that quickly. Thankfully, I did this in my concrete-floored basement so nothing got ruined.

There needs to be a drop or two of blood at the least. This makes the ritual valid. Your blood contains your DNA and signature.Use a sewing needle to poke your index finger pad a few times, just relax and poke. Then squeeze the fingertip with your other fingers on your other hand so the blood comes out. Easy!
