How much do other languages really matter in magickal workings?

For example, If I were to do the prayer to Zeus for protection in Greek or Sanskrit rather than English, would I gain more protection since these are “holier” languages, even if I said it with equal sincerity and faith in English?

How much does what language I use really matter compared to putting my mind and soul into a holy working?

Another example would be runes, If I were to vibrate “SUN” in english rather than “SOWILO”, why would only the latter have an affect if they both litterally mean the same thing and calling into the same cosmic force essentially?

If I’m focusing on the Sun and trying to invoke Solar energy, does it really matter that much what language I’m using to connect with that force?

Perhaps it’s the meaning that matters more, how much one connects with this or that name or how much one believes in that name’s significance.

For example if one believes Sanskrit or runic have more power because they are “holy” languages then they will indeed have more power than if someone just used English which is just considered a mundane language.

HPS Lydia once mentioned about how the mass mind was able to shift the astrological calendars somehow or something along those lines, perhaps she can expand on what that means exactly. I wonder if the power of languages really come from the mass mind believing this or that language has a holiness or sacred power to it which would then make it more powerful.

Perhaps it’s also because there are certain sounds and vibrations certain languages have that English doesn’t have, like the “Kh” sound among others.

That tone may not seem appropriate. Apologies High Priestess. I can be very direct and analytical in my speech sometimes and often only notice it after I write it, no disrespect was intended.

This is the targeted message.

1. Some languages are more powerful than others. You can generally gage for ancient languages which ones are stronger based on which spiritual traditions were more deep and provided better results.
For modern languages, how close they are to their ancestors is a big factor.

2. Vibration is one thing, communication with the Gods is another. When communicating with the Gods, the message is heard regardless. How the Gods reply and to what degree they help is based on other factors than the language used.
With vibration, yes, the language matters a lot, based on the factors noted in 1, as well as other factors we might not know.

3. Aside from simple communication, prayer also has a theurgic aspect to it, a synchronized effort both out of you and out of the Divine. In that sense, the language does matter somewhat. However, I wouldn't bother learning ancient languages specifically for prayer.

What I will advise as I have been told this by Clergy, is that your native language is more powerful than English, for affirmations and for prayer. It has deeper associations in your mind and in your blood. If it is English, of course, use English.
