Sorry I didn't think before I posted. I was just thinking about how you said quads and how they're usually offroads, so you must be rural and they're riding right by your property... but forgot you also said cars and bikes. I don't think cops can help, then.

I lived in the center of a bigger city (c. 500k inhabitants; where there used to be motorcycles riding until 3 a.m.), but moved away and now I live in a different one (c. 70k), so it's far from being rural. Here the quads go ONroad, sadly. And cops? Yeah, they wanted me to describe the colour of the vehicles that disturb the noise. Yes, as if that was necessary to send a patrol :( - one can literally hear the roaring and revving engines. This is a total disregard of any kind of rules, be they written or unwritten. So yes @Mint , you're 100% correct - cops cannot help :( Hence my inquiry here.

Have you tried earplugs? I find them uncomfortable to be honest, but there must be more comfortable options that I have not tried.

I have the alpine sleepdeep earplugs, this is their strongest earplug that oppresses sounds the most, although some foam earplugs on paper oppresses sounds more, but I find these to be safer, more comfortable, and they lasts longer. And I had a random foam earplug, it opressed the sounds worse than this. I live next to a busy road, I don't hear any cars with this even if the windows are open, and I also bought it because I heard mosquito and foodfly-like noises, and I don't hear them with these.

the only downside, is that recently it started to ich my ears sometimes, even though they say it's from a material that is easy on the skin and doesn't make it itch. It could have also been because an outer layer worn off, I have been using it for some time, or I put it under too hot water or too cold or something. But anyways it's still usable, I can fall asleep with it much better than without it, sometimes I just have to scratch my ears before I fall sleep. But not way too frequently.

The other downside of them is that they might make your ears more prone to get clogged with earwax, as they push it in a bit, not sure though I never had such problems so far. if that happens, a screw-like ear cleaner is much better than the traditional cotton wool on a stick ear cleaner.

I wouldn't suggest anything spiritual, earplugs definitely. If you have the money you could invest in soundproof windows. I have them and it's a huge difference with and without. I have a train rail like 20 meters away from my bedroom and I hear almost nothing when the train passes with soundproof windows.
