The Gods Gods or ancient demons?

Hi everyone, brothers and sisters,

I think I’m becoming shaken and confused because my belief systems are colliding with each other like two black holes consuming one another.

Let me tell you this truth: I believe in ancient beings and the 72 demons. In fact, my first spiritual beliefs were centered around worshipping the demons of the Goetia. I even connected to the Joy of Satan website to some extent, and now I’ve come across your perspective and the situation on your site.

Your argument was beautiful: all cultures worshipped different gods, but with essentially the same essence!

To me, it seems obvious that these gods are real. Through the respectful traditions of Goetia, Joy of Satan, and other practices, I was able to feel that these supernatural beings were real, even though I used to call them “Satan.”

Now I’m going through this kind of crisis! Please help me… No matter how much I think about it, I can’t seem to get out of this intellectual swamp!

I like the demonic and mysterious appearance of these forces, especially the idea of secretly invoking them in the darkness.

But on the other hand, your arguments make sense—that perhaps they are simply distorted forms or manifestations of the gods. And with all due respect to all the gods, I genuinely have no interest in worshipping the Greek gods, or the Norse gods, or others.

In fact, it’s genuinely difficult for me to start calling Zeus “Satan” instead.

What should I do?

1. Can we say that demons are actually another manifestation or aspect of the gods?

2. Is there anything wrong with invoking the gods through respectful traditions?

3. Overall, what advice would you give me?

Demon word isn´t bad it´s from greek, the branding of the Yehiborim off it is bad. The gods are no demons they are above them, in ranking therefore the are gods. But the names given in the goetica are altered in a bad way. If you love the gods you should use there pure names. If your enemy gives you a bad slurname, you wouldn´t want your friends/students to use it. For most off us, we had to adjust to the new knowledge, after you do, you feel it was right. Well, I personally feel more comfortable with Egyptian or Sumerian names and imagery, and I’m honestly not really interested in Greek mythology...

Would it be wrong for me to call Zeus “Ra” or something similar, and visualize him in my mind in an Egyptian or Sumerian form?

Even in the Grand Ritual of Lord Zeus, we call him by the names Amun and Atum, his Egyptian forms, and Anu, his Sumerian aspect, and many of his other names from different cultures.

If you feel more comfortable approaching the Gods by the names they were known by in one ancient culture rather than another, there is absolutely no problem with choosing whichever names resonate with you most and help you form a deeper connection with them.

You cannot cling to the distorted definitions of the Gods.

Words like Demons, Devil, Satan, “the Most High”, in enemy cultures also known as “the Ein Sof”, are all corruptions.

This has also been done with the concept/name of Zeus, which has been perverted into “Je-Sus” and “Jesus Christ,” to name a few examples.

Everything is taken and transformed for their own convenience. All the terms mentioned above are connected to the Divine; there is nothing negative about them, contrary to what is claimed.

The correct ways to invoke and summon the Gods are in the Temple of Zeus, not in grimoires or other places.

The advice is what the Gods themselves give: Acquire knowledge and truth, and apply.

Many have gone through feelings similar of yours, it's just something you get used to.

Can we say that demons are actually another manifestation or aspect of the gods?

The demon word isn't really bad, but it would be a good idea to use Daemon, like in our homepage, as to differentiate the term from the wrongful association people following yehuboric religions do.

The original Greek term "Daimon" has been used to describe different levels of entities, from the spirits of the Ancestors, to even the Olympians themselves in at least one instance of Homer's Iliad. Here you can read the truth behind the word Daemon.

Is there anything wrong with invoking the gods through respectful traditions?

It's suboptimal, no one is going to punish you, but at this point it makes no sense. You could make some examples and I'd be able to help you better. For instance, I still call Aphrodite, Astarte. But Astarte is Her Phoenician/Canaanite Name, not a Goetic one. I would highly advise against using Goetic names. Not sure if all of them, but definitely most of them are unclean perversions. And I personally believe that earlier, when we knew less, it was much more "forgivable" than now, when we are wiser and know better. It's also way limited to worship only 72 Gods knowing there are many more.

Overall, what advice would you give me?

Hello! The Temple of Zeus doesn't deny the mysterious or Chthonic aspects of the Gods (Duality of Divinity) but actually expands upon and completes our understanding through the Restorations of Their True Identities. The Restoration to True Names is necessary for humanity as the Gods being slandered and obscured for the most recent history via the addresses in Abrahamic grimoires actually corrupts how we are able to honour, connect to and perceive the Divine (Declaration on the Restoration of the Ancient Gods).

We understand the importance of honouring the Gods to the True Names and knowledge which was preserved at great cost to our ancient ancestors and not reiterating the Abrahamic cultural inversions which were meant as acts of adversarial reduction to ultimately erase Their worship and honour.

Hello :)

It is fine to refer to our Head God by whatever cultural name you prefer for Him. I initially planned on doing this too, but upon meditating on Zeus, I began to feel better about this name. When I was growing up I never felt drawn to the Greek Pantheon myself, having my own beloved culture, but now it feels strong and powerful, and worthy of our Great God.
